Manchester City haven’t really enjoyed the season that many here at the Transfer Tavern were expecting under the guidance of Pep Guardiola – they’ve finally started to adapt but still haven’t shown the consistency needed to be champions.

Some of their players have been simply class and irreplaceable at times this season, but that’s not where the issues fundamentally lay for the Citizens.

The problem has been the number of players who just simply haven’t pulled their weight during Guardiola’s first campaign at the Etihad Stadium. Not only will Guardiola likely sell them this summer, but we feel the fans will be cheering them out of the door as well.

There are four or five players who could easily make this list. But for now, we here at the Transfer Tavern will focus on the TWO players that the City fans can’t wait to see the back of!

Half the punters at the bar probably forgot that this guy was still stealing a living at the club.
The former Aston Villa captain and England International has quite simply made no impression on the team and is lucky if he’s named in the match day squad these days. We don’t think he’ll be missed by the City punters at the Tavern at all.

JESUS NAVAS

The Spanish international has been so inconsistent since arriving in England. He looked good initially but has since faltered and he really does struggle to find decent end product. Overall, he’s not been a great signing for the Citizens and having made only six Premier League starts this season, Guardiola seems to hold similar concerns to punters in the Tavern. They won’t be disappointed to see the back of him.
