2 midfielders Chelsea must attempt to seal a deal for this month

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping for a new midfield signings over the next few weeks…

Antonio Conte has done a fantastic job leading his troops so far this season, but simply put – Chelsea’s midfield is not strong enough to help see them through to a famous Premier League victory this season.

Nemanja Matic and N’Golo Kante have formed a decent duo, and Cesc Fabregas is useful in small doses – but beyond that, Conte has very little choice.

A top side needs a variety of players to use in different situations, and at present – Chelsea simply don’t have that.

Our landlord thinks that the midfield is an area that Conte really needs to improve, and he only has a few weeks to do it.

With that said, here are 2 midfielders Chelsea must attempt to seal a deal for this month…

 Tiemoue Bakayoko

If Conte is looking for a defensive option, Tiemoue Bakayoko could be a great choice.

At 22-years-old, Bakayoko is an option for the present and the future, and he would offer an alternative to N’Golo Kante in the heart of the Chelsea midfield.

Strong in the air, with the ball at his feet, and a tireless runner – Bakayoko is a player that could have a real impact in the Premier League.

He reads the game fantastically, much like Kante, and always appears 1 step ahead of the opposition – which would be vital in the Premier League.

Franck Kessie

Franck Kessie is a similarly young player, but the job that he would do would be very different.

More of an attacking option for Conte, Kessie is a box-to-box style midfielder that would add some real energy to the heart of the Chelsea midfield – an energy that the Blues have been lacking since the departure of Ramires.

He, like Bakayoko, is a young player – just 20-years-old – and would solve a real long-term issue for the Chelsea boss.

He might not be ready to play straight away, but in time he will be a real star.
