Reds fans here in the Tavern have been in fine voice following their impressive run of form over the last couple of months.
Jurgen Klopp has certainly been a bundle of fun since taking over back in 2015, but hasn’t always received the same response back from fans, with continuous criticism being aimed at the defensive duties of this Liverpool side, as errors have become a common theme.
Although there may be those underlying problems within the team, fans here in the Tavern are loving life as a red, with a sense of excitement appearing as to who they may sign in January.
Of course, with the defensive frailties, and the recent criticism for captain Jordan Henderson, reports in The Daily Mail suggested that Klopp is looking to battle Manchester City to secure the talent of central-defensive-midfielder Jean Michael Seri.
26-year-old Seri has been the focal point of his current club OGC Nice this season, having provided 1 goal and 4 assists from his deep-lying position in the midfield, one of his main strengths is the ability to utilize his pace to get into forward positions to create for his team-mates.
Nevertheless, with Liverpool looking to bring in more players this transfer window, here’s a look at TWO talents that could potentially follow Jean Michael Seri to Anfield.
Stefan De Vrij

The central-defender has really made a name for himself this season, after becoming a part of one of the sturdiest defences in the Serie A.
Having been heavily involved in the majority of games so far this campaign, he’s managed to help his team towards 6 clean-sheets, along with contributing 3 goals in the process.
Indeed, due to rejecting the chance to re-sign his contract that’s set to expire in the Summer, Lazio may be looking to get a deal done early to avoid missing out on any funds for the player, with the Mirror reporting that Liverpool are eyeing up a move for the defender.
Of course, fans here in the Tavern are looking forward to the prospect of recruiting a central-defender to Merseyside.
Lorenzo Insigne

Lorenzo Insigne has been one of the standout players in the rampant Napoli side this season, as he repeatedly attracts the attention of the whole of Europe.
His numbers just seem to get better as years go by, now managing 8 goals and 5 assists in his opening 22 games in all competitions. But his pace, trickery and passing pose a greater effect than ever before, as stats reveal him as the most creative player in Europe this season.
With their underlying interest in the attacker dating back the Summer months, they may just decide to re-ignite their quest to sign the blossoming Italian, with a possible Philippe Coutinho exit on the cards.
Therefore, if a huge void is left with the Brazilian’s departure, then Insigne may just be the man to follow in his footsteps.
Reds fans, thoughts?
