Liverpool supporters in the Transfer Tavern have again been bemoaning their side’s inability to defend after seeing the Reds throw away a three-goal lead to only draw 3-3 with Sevilla in the Champions League on Tuesday night, thus making them wait to book their place in the knockout stages of the competitions.
Jurgen Klopp’s men went into their clash with the La Liga outfit off the back of four successive victories in all competitions, in which time they only conceded one goal. And they looked on course for a fifth on the spin as a brace from Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane’s fourth of the campaign gave them a 3-0 lead at half time, although things unravelled spectacularly after the break as a Widdam Ben Yedder brace got the hosts right back into it, before Guido Pizarro’s 93rd minute strike sealed a point for the Spanish club, thus preventing Liverpool from securing qualification for the last 16.
Thus, there have been many despondent Reds fans in the Tavern this week, many of whom are trying to put their finger on their side’s recurrent defensive mishaps, mishaps which are threatening to derail their campaign.
In the meantime though, there has been much for our resident Liverpudlians to get their teeth into, not least recent reports suggesting that they are set to go after Paris Saint-Germain winger Julian Draxler in January.
The 24-year-old made the move to the French giants back in January of this year but was unable to inspire Unai Emery’s side to the Ligue 1 title last term, with Monaco proving too strong for the five-times defending champions.
Yet the Germany international hasn’t always been first-choice at the Parc des Princes this term following big money signings during the summer, and as such Liverpool are reportedly keen on bringing the winger to Anfield.
And were Draxler to make the move to Merseyside in January, here are TWO other stars who could follow him to the Premier League giant…

Suso

Suso came up through the ranks at Liverpool but only went on to earn 21 senior appearances for the club, before eventually moving on to better things back in the winter of 2015.
And the 24-year-old has since gone from strength to strength with Italian giants AC Milan, netting 13 goals and laying on 18 assists in 64 games for the club, six goals and six assists of which have come in his impressive start to the current campaign.
And it’s form which has reportedly attracted the interest of ex-employers Liverpool, who could well be on the lookout for midfield reinforcements given that the futures of Emre Can and Philippe Coutinho are far from certain.
Thus, Suso could well make a return to Anfield in the January window.
Thomas Lemar

Thomas Lemar played a big part in helping Monaco produce a wonderful season last time out, in which they won the Ligue 1 title and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.
However, Leonardo Jardim’s squad was decimated by big money departures over the summer, and with the club now out of this season’s Champions League and already six points adrift of leaders Paris Saint-Germain in the league, more outgoings could be on the cards.
And Liverpool could well instigate one of them by reportedly expressing an interest in France international Lemar, who of course was linked with a move to Arsenal during the summer.
And with 14 goals and 17 assists for Monaco last term, it’s clear that he’ll seriously bolster Klopp’s attacking ranks at Anfield, and thus could well take them to the next level.
