2 reasons why De Bruyne’s proposed new Man City offer will be the deal of the year

City fans here in the Tavern have their attention firmly focused on one player in particular, with the hope of tying this man down to a long-term deal.

The Citizens scattered all around the blue half of Manchester have fallen in love with one of their star men this season, Kevin De Bruyne.

Indeed, the Belgian wizard is one of the world’s greatest players, and has been the star of the show for this steamrolling Manchester City side this season. Any team given the luxury of having the attacking-midfielder in their side is going to be successful, with a Premier League title looking inevitable.

As if City supporters weren’t in high enough spirits, their days were made even better when reports in The Times suggested that Pep Guardiola is set to offer De Bruyne a £200,000 a week contract that would see him at the Etihad for another 6 years.

Guardiola has never been shy of splashing the cash during his time in Manchester, and doesn’t look frightened to make the Belgian the 5th highest paid player in the Premier League. Our Landlord here in the Tavern believes that this is a player that City should tie-down at all costs.

So without further ado, here’s a look at TWO reasons as to why this would be the deal of the year for Manchester City.

Silverware guarantee

There’s no doubt that Manchester City would struggle to find themselves in the promising position that they’re currently in without the magic of Kevin De Bruyne.

Indeed, when you house a player like the Belgian in your side there’s always going to be surrounding players that benefit. After managing to provide so many assists for his team last season, he’s well on his way to repeating the feat with him already hitting the double-digit mark, not to mention he’s already tallied over 5 goals to go with this.

Every side needs that world-class player to win trophies. When you’ve got a player constantly providing for the deadly attack that Manchester City pose, there’s going to be countless amounts of goals that inevitably do win you matches.

Complete package, without fail

Some players take years to reach their full-potential but Kevin De Bruyne is already hitting the heights of stardom at the young age of 26-years-old.

Still, with his peak-years still ahead of him, it’s beginning to look as if he may just become the world’s best. Having shown that he can provide 20 + assists and 7+ goals per season, he’s a pleasure to have if you’re Pep Guardiola.

The past couple of seasons have seen De Bruyne rival the ability of some of the world’s best Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, after some of the most complete performances in the attacker’s career.
