Our Manchester United supporters here in the Transfer Tavern welcomed back Zlatan the Lion against Newcastle United much to their delight.
The Swedish star made his long-awaited comeback against the Toon Army and instantly showed United fans what they have been missing this season, offering vigour, passion and determination as the Red Devils impressed.
That strong-minded attitude is something that the Red Devils have missed a little in recent months, so as a result don’t be surprised to see United go from strength to strength this season.
Our landlord thinks the return of the Swede could be the sole reason they will catch neighbours and rivals Man City, alongside challenging in Europe and domestically.
He anticipates this to be a turning point when the Old Trafford outfit look back at the end of the season, and so our regulars have taken a look at two reasons why he could fire United to glory…
Mentality

He’s already shown the winning mentality wherever he’s gone in the past, he’s a natural winner and expects everyone around him to level up rather than him drop down to their expectations.
United need a strong-willed individual like this to steer them through some tough times ahead, you can see Mourinho trusts him and he demands respect from his peers.
This will help an otherwise inexperienced team succeed.
Goals

Although Romelu Lukaku is regarded as the number one striker at Old Trafford, we have seen against the likes of Newcastle maybe a sign of the future of this season. Lukaku was moved out to the right to make way for Zlatan, and both will be eager to score goals to show they’re the main man – so maybe we’re going to see a game of one-up-man-ship unravel this season between the two.
That will, of course, only be a good thing for Man Utd, as two of Europe’s best strikers look to battle it out for a starting berth.
Ibrahimovic’s record throughout his career has been incredible, and if he can get firing, there is no telling just how many points he will win for his club.
