2 signings Ed Woodward needs to hand Jose Mourinho in January

The Man United fans in the Transfer Tavern are set to be in dreamland as they hope Ed Woodward looks to hand Jose Mourinho the luxury of 2 new signings.

With a demanding man like Mourinho at the helm, Woodward has always had that pressure of delivering the funds the Portuguese boss needs to bring in the players in his special mould.

After an impressive unbeaten so far this season, with United showing glimpses of old, the fans here in the Tavern only wonder what the acquisition of another couple of quality signings can bring to the club as they chase Premier League success.

Obviously, with a club of the stature of the Red Devils, the Manchester club have been increasingly linked with some of the world best, who are potentially going to be making a switch to the Old Trafford giants.

Indeed, for a side already impressing with unbeaten records in both the Champions League and domestically, fans can only dream of the heights and glory this team can bring to Old Trafford this season.

As they push for domestic and European glory, there sure are flashbacks to Sir Alex Ferguson’s reign for the punters propping up our bar.

Still, a squad is never complete, so here are the two men that Woodward must seek to hand Mourinho in the January transfer window…

Leon Goretzka

The German international, who currently plays his football for Bundesliga side Schalke 04, has reportedly caught the eye of many big clubs in recent times.

The 22-year-old midfield maestro continues to impress as he has netted 4 times in 10 games for his nation and 12 times in 97 games for his domestic side. So, for a man that plays in central midfield, he really does offer it all.

Options at the centre of midfield are short with the growing age of Juan Mata, this has to be an area for Woodward to dip into to really bolster the sides pedigree going forward.

With a player of this man;s ability and stature, no wonder at the young age of 22 he is getting all the attention. Providing great strength, stability, an unbelievable vision and incredible passing abilities, there’s no reason why this ace can’t go far in the Premier League.

A must if United are going to keep up the momentum, as they continue to chase glory days that might be closer than some fans think.

Antoine Griezmann

We’re sure you all saw this one coming, after an increased interest in the French international in the past the Red Devils have really got to step up their pursuit as Barcelona reportedly circle.

Having been one of the world’s best attacking players in the recent future, this man sure won’t come without a fight as competition from other European giants and the stubbornness of current club Atletico Madrid make it hard for Mourinho to bring this man to Old Trafford.

Having scored 62 goals in 116 games for the Spanish giants and impressing massively in Euro 2016 for France, the golden boy is surely a must in terms of United reaching that next level.

Having already splashed the cash on a signing for Romelu Lukaku this summer and the signing of Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a free, Mourinho clearly isn’t afraid to spend as he continues to strive in improving the quality and depth of the squad as he continues to build his legacy at the Old Trafford.

United fans, are these two men the players Woodward needs to bring to the club in January?
