The Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern were relatively satisfied with their side’s season and are feeling optimistic about the summer transfer window.
Of course a decent season for a side outside the top six usually means that the interest in their players heighten and Ronald Koeman will be looking to ensure most of his squad is still at the club by the start of next season to give the club the best possible opportunity to build.
Our landlord totally agrees with this perspective and he has commented how Koeman may be looking to just tweak his club this summer. This may mean some players leave the club but it may also see a few few names come to the blue half of Merseyside. On thing is for sure, the Toffees enjoying an early summer drink in the Tavern are discussing which players may leave their club and which new faces may come through the doors at Goodison Park.
Whilst a few names have been thrown around, our landlord has been able to narrow down to the most popular players his resident Evertonians feel should be axed and should be signed by their club.
Let’s take a look at what he has come up with…
AXE: Ross Barkley

Although he is one of their own, the feeling among Everton fans in the Tavern is that Barkley simply does not want to represent their side anymore.
With a huge cloud over his future and many a break down in contract talks, Ronald Koeman may well cash in on a starlet that has a huge amount of potential and is maybe looking to leave Goodison Park in order to fulfill it.
One thing is for certain, it will be a very easy task to axe Barkley as the interest in the young English playmaker will be huge.
SIGN: Gylfi Sigurdsson

Even if Ross Barkley stays at Goodison Park, our landlord believes Sigurdsson would be a fantastic signing for Ronald Koeman as he looks to strengthen his side for next season.
The Icelandic international just has that eye for a pass and can provide that cutting edge in the final third that may well take the Toffees up another level.
At 27 years of age, the thought in the Tavern is that Sigurdsson is going to peak over the next few season and Everton may well benefit if they sign him this summer.
AXE: Maarten Stekelenburg

With a range of good goalkeepers looking available this summer, Ronald Koeman may look to strengthen that position within his Everton side.
Stekelenburg may well be a casualty of that and although a countryman of Koeman, he has not really impressed this season at Goodison and at 34 years of age – it may be best for Stekelenburg to move on.
SIGN: Jordan Pickford

One of the bright sparks of Sunderland’s disastrous season, Jordan Pickford has fast become one of the brightest prospects in English football.
Everton may look to bring Pickford to Goodison and there is no doubt that it will be a signing that improves the standard of goalkeeping at the club.
Pickford won’t be cheap but as the Black Cats have been relegated, a move may be forced should Pickford state he wants to play Premier League football.
