One of the major debates amongst the Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern seems to centre around two players who don’t play for the club.
Indeed, our resident Red Devils are at each others’ throats about exactly who should be the next to don the club’s most famous shirt, the iconic No.7.
Both Gareth Bale and Antoine Griezmann have been mooted as potential incumbents of a number worn by the likes of George Best, Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo over the years.
In truth, either has the quality to shoulder such a burden, though do come with their pros and cons
Bale obviously has experience in the Premier League and Old Trafford seems like a natural home for the Welshman, though does come with an injury worry.
Griezmann is wholly untested outside of La Liga and his performances toward the latter end of the Champions League have barely been much to shout about but is entering his prime and enjoyed a good Euro 2016 with France.
So, with that in mind, who are you backing, United fans? Bale or Griezmann?
