The summer transfer window may have only just shut in the last couple of weeks, but here in the Transfer Tavern we’re already thinking about what the window in January could bring.
Our local Red Devils fans at the bar were one of the most excited over the summer as their club saw the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba sign for the Old Trafford club, and now they’re eager to see who else Jose Mourinho could entice to the club at the midway point of the season.
It’s not all about the big names though.
Sometimes the difference between winning the league and not is finding those players that no-one else had thought to go for, and our landlord thinks that is what united need to do.
The Red Devils have a long way to go in the season before they can even think about winning the league but if they have a look at the Bundesliga market and sign these THREE hidden gems, winning the league could be a real possibility, and that’s what the fans want most of all…
Julian Brandt
Brandt is a very talented young forward for Bayer Leverkusen and will soon be a leading light in the Germany national team so that tells you how good he is.
United have just as an exciting striker in Marcus Rashford so if the Red Devils managed to put the two together they’d surely be set for a dynamic partnership, and a lot of goals for years to come.
Jonathan Tah
At the back, United also have an exciting player in Eric Bailly who seems to have settled nicely since joining the club this summer.
Who partners him seems to still be up for grabs though and Mourinho might be thinking it’s worth buying for the future to have a solid partnership for the years ahead.
Tah would certainly fit the bill as he has bags of experience despite being in his early 20’s.
Felix Passlack
Dortmund have a whole host of young talented players and Passlack is just one of them.
He is a right-back by trade and that would suit Mourinho who ideally needs to sign an orthodox player in this position to compete with Antonio Valencia.
The current right-back has done a decent job but with Mourinho wanting specialists Passlack could be a very good option.
