3 Liverpool January transfer targets who would light up Anfield if they sign

It’s been a good start to the season for all involved at Liverpool and it seems Reds fans here in the Tavern are quite happy with Jurgen Klopp’s work in the first half of the season!

The Reds sit in the running at the top of the Premier League and after some cracking form shown between September and January, Klopp’s men look to be the closest thing to rivals that Chelsea will encounter throughout the entire campaign.

It’s been a season that has seen certain teams fail to bring in the results they need to keep pace at the top of the division but optimism at some clubs is particularly high right now, especially with the transfer window just around the corner.

And it’s the same at Anfield, especially with the Reds punters at the bar, it’s clear that a couple of additions would really strengthen things on Merseyside, giving them real firepower to push Chelsea all the way.

But as with all transfer windows, the rumours are vast and it seems that anyone and everyone is being linked with every club out there.

But here in the Tavern, we’re a canny bunch and here are THREE Liverpool January transfer targets that may actually join the club…

Raul Jiminez

At just 25-years-old, Mexican winger Raul Jiminez is one of the most exciting players we’ve seen emerge from Mexico since the likes of Carlos Vela at Arsenal.

The Benfica forward has bags of potential and he’s been a name that has been hotly linked with a move to Anfield over the winter weeks. With Jurgen Klopp’s team looking to push all the way until the end of the season, it’s imperative they have enough firepower to take them to the summit.

Jiminez is pacy, agile and has bags of skill and at the age he is, has plenty of developing to do as well.

Emil Forsberg

RB Leipzig have been one of the powerhouses of German football this season and, after a fantastic but controversial start to life in the Bundesliga, are very much a side making waves on the world footballing scale.

And one man that has been a massive part of that success is Swedish midfielder Emil Forsberg, who has dispatched five goals in 16 appearances for the German outfit.

He’s been linked with a move to Merseyside, thought it might prove tricky for the former Malmo man, who is well-liked amongst both the home support and the management at Leipzig.

Still, we think he’s a player who really would help the Reds going forward.

Quincy Promes

Quincy Promes is a player that has long-since been linked with a move to Anfield and it seems like a £25million move is reportedly edging ever-closer.

The Spartak Moscow winger has been terrorising defenders in Russia for some time now and the call to move up a step in his career looks set to be completed in the coming weeks.

Adding his sort of quality alongside the already class Phillipe Coutinho and Sadio Mane is getting Reds fans here in the Tavern extremely excited indeed.
