Our Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are starting to feel a little nervous with how this transfer window is going.

Whilst the Reds supporters are massive fans of Jurgen Klopp and trust what he is doing they can’t help but feel that the club needs to get new players in during this window to sustain their title charge.

For sure, the Reds have the weakest squad out of all the title contenders this season and our landlord is in the same boat when it comes to them signing new players.

On the flip-side, though, there are some players at Anfield that could do with moving on during this window in a bid to get more out of their careers.

Our landlord is of the same opinion with that, too, and he thinks these three players need to move on during this month before the market closes for business…

Mamadou Sakho

This one is a pretty much no-brainer.

The French defender has had a torrid time this season with him not getting anywhere near the senior side and that’s all down to his poor relationship with Jurgen Klopp. Sakho was once a fan favourite amongst our local Reds punters but now they want him to move on for the good of the rest of the squad’s morale.

Lucas Leiva

The Brazilian midfielder has been a loyal servant to the club but it could be time for him to move on too.

He’s not the player he was and that is reflected by the fact that he only really makes appearances in the cup competitions now. He could still do a decent job somewhere else for a club with his experience but his time with the Reds is likely coming to and end.

Alberto Moreno

Normally, there’d be no real shame in losing your spot to a player like James Milner.

However, for Moreno, the Spanish international has seen his left back spot taken by the former Manchester City man despite him having never played there for a prolonged amount of time at all during his career. The ease at which Milner has adapted speaks volumes, too, and so Moreno should be considering leaving.
