Only losing one game in all competitions for over two months, Manchester City fans here in the Tavern have high hopes for the rest of their season.

Prior to losing to Monaco earlier this month, Man City were eleven games unbeaten in all competitions.

Although City fans will be disappointed now their team is out of the Champions League, title dreams are still certainly within reach for City as well as FA Cup gold.

With the likes of Leroy Sane and David Silva now finding their groove this season, these performances have reflected on City’s results of late.

After the huge injury blow to in-form forward Gabriel Jesus earlier this year, there were concerns about the way City would bounce back, but they have proved these critics wrong.

Keeping Sergio Aguero

Last month, there were murmurings here in the Tavern that Sergio Aguero would leave Manchester City in the summer.

Although these talks have quietened down since February, City must not turn all their attention to Gabriel Jesus, instead they should appreciate the world class striker they currently have on their hands, Sergio Aguero.

With 114 goals in 170 league games for City, Aguero has continued to prove each season he is one of the Premier League’s best forwards.

Sign a defender

It’s no secret that Man City’s back line is in need of a serious revamp.

Gael Clichy, Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna are all coming to the end of their contracts, and this means that the Manchester side will be seriously short on full-backs come the end of the season.

With the amounted of talented full-back scattered around Europe, it would be logical for City to splash out the cash on a top-quality defender to really make their defence one of the league’s best again.

Sign A Defensive Midfielder

When Yaya Toure was playing in his prime for City, he was one of the best midfielders in the world.

Now after a long layoff and irregular starts, City have failed to find a replacement for the Ivorian, and with that comes the missing piece to their whole puzzle.

You’ve seen with teams such as Tottenham, without Moussa Dembele something just doesn’t work for the Spurs side.

It’s the same with City.

If they can sign a solid defensive midfielder who can gel into the team straight away, things can only get better for the citizens.
