The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw reports linking Oscar with a move away from Chelsea…
According to the Telegraph, the Blues are set to land £60 million for the sale of the Brazilian – potentially opening up a pretty sizeable chunk of change for Antonio Conte.
With the January transfer window fast approaching, Conte will undoubtedly be looking at ways to improve his side – and an increase in available funds could be exactly what he needs.
On the surface, it would seem as though Chelsea don’t need any players. They are undefeated in 9 games, and in truth – they look near unstoppable.
But as the season hits a busy period, the Blues simply must get a bit more squad depth – or they could risk missing out on Premier League glory at the end of the season.
With that said, here are 3 players Chelsea must look to sign with the £60m Oscar money…
Virgil van Dijk

Virgil van Dijk is quickly emerging as one of the Premier League’s best central defenders – and he is destined for a big move sooner, rather than later.
With Chelsea heavily reliant upon Gary Cahill and David Luiz, alongside an out of position Cesar Azpilicueta, van Dijk could represent a fantastic alternative.
He is Premier League proven and fairly young – meaning that not only would he come in and settle quickly, but he would also be able to remain there for the years to come.
With John Terry likely to depart at the end of the season, this deal would make a lot of sense.
Niklas Sule

If Chelsea are wanting to look outside of the Premier League, Niklas Sule could be another decent option.
He has been a key part of an impenetrable Hoffenheim defence this season, and his play style is very reminiscent of John Terry’s – meaning he could be the perfect replacement.
Sule may well be available for slightly less than van Dijk, which could be a bonus, but his skill set is fairly unique in the modern game.
He is strong in the air, yet comfortable with the ball at his feet. He is also strong and mobile, meaning that he is the perfect all-round defender.
Eric Dier

If Conte is more interested in improving his midfield, another target could be Tottenham midfielder Eric Dier.
The Blues have been linked with the Englishman recently, with Antonio Conte seemingly keen on improving the defensive side of his midfield.
He would be a decent option given how impressive he was for Tottenham last year, and his lack of game time this season could make a deal slightly more easy to come by.
His homegrown status could also be important.
