3 players Liverpool should sign before tonight’s 11:30pm deadline

Naturally, attention in the North West has been focused firmly on the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City in perhaps the most lavish of summers in Premier League history.

However, Liverpool have also been incredibly active in this summer market as the Reds embark on their own monumental rebuild under the stewardship of Jurgen Klopp.

The charismatic German coach has also splashed the cash at Anfield over the past few months as he looks to stamp his authority on the underperforming squad he inherited from Brendan Rodgers.

Sadio Mane has already impressed, while Ragnar Klavan and Joel Matip have been called upon to bolster the backline after a hefty summer spend.

Still, the inconsistency that has so far defined the former Borussia Dortmund coach’s tenure remains as prevalent as ever.

With that in mind, these last few hours of the transfer window provide the 49-year-old with one last chance to pull together a squad capable of challenging the Top 4 at the very least.

Considering all this, here are THREE players Liverpool simply must sign before tonight’s deadline.

Jack Wilshere

Controversial, but Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere would be ideal for Jurgen Klopp.

The England international in a holding role would give the Reds a tenacious physical presence, while his passing range and deft touches could expertly combine with the likes of Sadio Mane in a devastating counter-attack.

Injuries are clearly a factor here, though the notion of bringing the 24-year-old on loan has to be a tempting one.

Geroge Friend

As crazy as the current market is, there remains a dearth in top class left-backs around world football right now.

That particular berth has proved to be a problem position for the Reds, with Alberto Moreno failing to impress even in the slightest.

James Milner has reverted to that duty and does a solid enough job, though it remains an area in need of strengthening.

Middlesborough defender George Friend may not be the most glamorous of names, though represents a truly solid option and a player who can flourish under Klopp’s dynamic tutelage.

Christian Pulisic

One of the most gifted young talents plying his trade in Europe today, American international Chrisitan Pulisic would be a great signing for Liverpool.

A truly Jurgen Klopp type of player, the 17-year-old could well develop into a Marco Reus incarnate under his management at Anfield.
