3 players rated under £10m Chelsea need to sign in January

The Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have enjoyed a mixed start to the Premier League season so far…

Antonio Conte is beginning to get his message across to his players, but the Blues have not been back to their best yet – and changes will definitely need to be made by the Italian boss.

However, given the lack of success at Stamford Bridge last season – and the heavy spending utilised over the summer – funds will not be easy to come by for Antonio Conte – and he could have to look at some cheaper options as he looks to bolster his squad.

January is edging ever closer – and Conte will need to start plotting any signings he wishes to make immediately.

With that said, here are 3 players rated under £10m Chelsea need to sign in January…

 Gianluigi Donnarumma

Whilst Thibaut Courtois was touted by the Blues in the Football Transfer Tavern as the long-term successor to Petr Cech – that is looking less and less likely on a near-monthly basis.

Whether it be poor form or comments made by the Belgian – it appears clear the Courtois will eventually leave the club; and Chelsea need to prepare for that eventuality.

Gianluigi Donnarumma represents a perfect example of a replacement, given his young age and already impressive experience.

AC Milan aren’t the club they once were, and they cannot hold on to their top players for long periods of time anymore – and Donnarumma is certainly of that calibre.

For just £8.50m (as per Transfermarkt.com) – Donnarumma is a bargain.

 Ruben Navas

Ruben Navas would provide Chelsea with some much-needed steel in the heart of their midfield.

Neither Cesc Fabregas or Nemanja Matic are doing the business so far this season, and Navas would represent a high-quality, long-term solution to a problem that could otherwise get out of control of Antonio Conte.

Available for just £9.35 million (as per Transfermarkt.com), Navas would represent fantastic value for a player that has experience beyond his years.

At just 19 years old – Navas is the future.

 Ciro Immobile

Chelsea’s offensive struggles have been well documented in recent months, and whilst Diego Costa is doing the business up front; he is always just one injury or suspension away from a long spell on the sidelines.

Immobile has been dominating in Serie A as of late, having already scored 4 goals this season – and he looks the real deal.

At 26-years-old, he is just entering the prime of his career – and a switch to a big club is inevitable.

For just £8.50m (according to Transfermarkt.com) – Immobile is a steal.
