Our Arsenal fans here in the Transfer Tavern are still reeling from what happened to their club on Wednesday night and find themselves unsure over what the future holds.

The Gunners went into the game against Bayern Munich hoping that they could at least get a respectable result that they could build on at the Emirates.

Instead, though, they saw themselves crumble in the second half of the game as 1-1 became 5-1 in a wretched display.

It’s left many to wonder just where on Earth the club is heading and our landlord reckons it’s time to ring the changes from top to bottom in north London.

Certainly, Arsene Wenger needs to go according to our landlord and he reckons the Frenchman should be replaced by Diego Simeone.

You never know, the Atletico Madrid boss might bring some good players with him, too, and so with that in mind here’s three players that might follow him to the club if he joins…

Antoine Griezmann

This is the one our local Gunners want more than anyone else and he’d certainly make a difference to the team.

A side with Griezmann and Alexis Sanchez in simply has to be respected and our landlord thinks Simeone should do all he can to make such an eventuality happen. The Frenchman evidently has a good relationship with his current boss and the offer to continue that with a new challenge could be tempting enough.

Jose Gimenez

Arsenal evidently need more squad depth and especially need extra options at the back.

When Laurent Koscielny went off injured on Wednesday against Bayern the Gunners folded like a cheap suit and that does not look good on the rest of their defenders. Gimenez would surely tighten things up at the back, then, and give the club a bit more backbone then it currently has at the moment.

Thomas Partey

Our landlord thinks that Simeone might be reluctant to bring in all of Atletico’s best players out of respect and the club may not be that willing to sell them either – surprisingly.

One other man he might be able to get in to the club, though, is the youngster Thomas Partey who looks like he could do the business in the Premier League. Arsenal need strong and imposing players at the moment and Partey has all the traits to be just perfect for that.
