Antonio Conte has taken to life in the English top flight like a duck to water and his side’s start has put smiles back on the faces of the Chelsea followers.

Conte has been tasked with bringing Champions League football back to the Bridge with a top four finish, although on current form the Italian looks more than capable of leading his side towards the title instead!

One Chelsea fan is tucking into one of the landlord’s all-day breakfast’s and he thinks that the Blues’ start has done enough to suggest that this season can be a memorable one, although he does concede that they must keep up their current form, with so many sides capable this year.

With January on the horizon Conte will undoubtedly be preparing a list of targets capable of ensuring a successful season for the Blues and Lee Clarke looks at three players who could be on the boss’ shopping list.

Radja Nainggolan

Chelsea were frustrated in their attempts to bring the Roma midfielder to the Premier League during the summer and could revive their interest during January.

It is no secret that Antonio Conte is keen to bolster his midfield ranks and with contract negotiations stalling in the Italian capital, Chelsea could look to swoop for the Belgian.

One Chelsea fan is playing pool here in the Transfer Tavern and he thinks that Nainggolan would be a quality player in the Premier League, stating that he hopes the Blues could do a deal in January.

Leonardo Bonucci

The 29-year-old defender is probably Conte’s number one target at this moment in time, although even the Italian boss probably realises that it will take a massive bid to tempt Juventus.

Conte has a superb relationship with the central defender though and a January switch for the player isn’t completely out of the question, with the chance to secure an instant Premier League title likely to play a part in Bonucci’s thinking.

A Blues fan is chatting to one of his pals in the Tavern’s smoking area and they both agree that the tough tackling central defender would be a real coup for any Premier League club.

Javier Pastore

The attacking midfielder appears to have fallen down the pecking order at Paris Saint-Germain and a move away from the club could be on the cards for January.

The Argentinean would be a quality addition for any Premier League club and Conte could steal a march on Chelsea’s rivals if he can pull off a deal for the player.

One Chelsea fan is having a game of darts with his mates here in the Tavern and he says that although he hasn’t actually seen much of Pastore, he places his trust in Conte to sign the very best players for the club and if he thinks he has the required quality then so be it.
