In their defeat to Leicester City in the EFL Cup, our Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern once again welcomed back Danny Ings to the first team.
After another injury lay-off, Ings is back on the comeback trail once more hoping he can finally get his Liverpool career off and running.
He’s played a total of six league matches since joining from Burnley back in 2015, scoring twice, not all that bad a record.
Still, some of our pub regulars think it’s time to go and let the one capped England international leave, others argue the case that the Reds haven’t seen the real Danny Ings as of yet.
Having spent time and money investing in getting him back to full fitness twice despite reoccurring knee injuries, the lad deserves a run in the team.
However, our glass collector mutters it’s only a matter of time before Klopp becomes tired of waiting.
Here’s three reasons why the Anfield axe should be heading Ing’s way…
Injury Prone

It’s obvious Danny Ings has had injury concerns in his time at Liverpool, spending virtually his whole career at the club in the physio room.
Having three knee injuries in such a short span of time is going to have an effect on his body as he continues to play.
If we take former Liverpool striker Michael Owen as the prime example of never really getting back to what he was after an injury which dogged him for his remaining years.
Where he’ll fit in

Jurgen Klopp already has Phillipe Coutinho, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Mo Salah and (injury prone himself) Daniel Sturridge as attacking options.
As a result, it’s hard to see where Ings is going to get his chance and able to make a mark on what is a strong forward line for the Reds.
Ings’ only hope is for an injury or suspension to be brought into the first team fold, but that also relies on him himself being fit and injury free.
Liverpool to cash in

While he’s only still 25 and his contract doesn’t run out until 2020, Liverpool might look to offload him to recoup some of the transfer fee and wages paid out. His lack of game time has stopped Ings repaying any of the investment back in terms of goals for the team.
If he can get himself fit and Klopp can get him playing a bit part to put him in the shop window. January might be a good time to sell to a team struggling for goals.
