A big debate has emerged here in the Transfer Tavern today, as punters wearing jerseys displaying the red half of Manchester are discussing the links of Sevilla’s loan interest in youngster Marcus Rashford.

After an electric rise to the first-team last season, Rashford has found things difficult to continue his rise this season – largely down to the fact he’s played out of position and has competition with the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Still just 19, a loan move for Marcus Rashford certainly wouldn’t be the worst idea and our landlord is one of many in the bar who believe Manchester United should send the young England international on-loan to the continent for the remainder of the season.

Whilst there are many who disagree, our landlord has picked out THREE big reasons why loaning him out would be the right choice and it’s certainly left many in the bar contemplating his future.

Regular experience

Marcus Rashford may have 26 appearances across all competitions this season but 11 of those have been off the bench.

Of course, that does mean he’s had 15 starts but only eight of them have been in the Premier League, with a further three in Europe.

Experience is crucial for a player of his age and, whilst not the be all and end all, it will certainly help him develop into a star. On top of that, experience in another European edge would give him an edge.

Leading striker

Crucially, only two of Rashford’s starts have been as a central striker this season.

There’s no doubt this is Rashford’s best position but those opportunities have not really be forthcoming, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic leading the line.

On the face of it, it would be better for Rashford to gain experience playing as a central-striker in Europe than it would as a wide-forward in the Premier League.
