The punters in the Football Transfer Tavern have been watching Everton’s early season form and have been very impressed with what they have seen.

A big reason for that would have to be Ronald Koeman and the way that he has managed the club.

A lot of the mistakes that the team were making under Roberto Martinez have been ironed out, and the team is looking a lot stronger than they have done in a long time.

Some punters even believe that Everton will be able to make their way into European competition this season – despite what is arguably the highest level of competition in the Premier League in recent memory.

There has been a lot of debating, but the consensus in the Tavern is that they are going to be able to do it.

The landlord has been listening in and has come up with THREE reasons why Everton are going to be able to make into the top six this season…

 New Faces

The new faces in the Everton side have given the team a new lease of life.

They all seem hungry to do well for the club and have given the club’s supporters genuine reason to be excited for the season.

The likes of Yannick Bolasie and Idrissa Gueye have shone early on in the season – and if they are able to continue as they have then Koeman’s signings will have turned out to be massive success stories.

 Defensive Organisation

Under Roberto Martinez, Everton were a side that every team would feel confident about scoring against,  but that has changed under Koeman.

Now the defense has become a well-worked unit – and that will help the team to pick up so many points throughout the season, even when they aren’t necessarily playing at their best.

If they are going to make it into the top six then they are going to have to be defensively strong and resilient – and that is a quality that they have gained under their new manager.

 Goals

There are going to be games when teams will be defending for their lives against the Toffees and Everton’s players are going to have to find a way to get the ball in the net.

They have had goals come from players all over the pitch and that helps a lot, as it means that they are not quite as reliant on goals from Romelu Lukaku to get them their points – although he will undoubtedly be an important player for the club this season.

Goals will be huge this year – and Everton are delivering them.
