According to reports in Chilean publication El Mercurio (via the Sun), Antonio Conte has got his eyes on a move for £56m-rated midfielder Arturo Vidal, who is currently playing for Bayern Munich.

They also note that the Chilean is already having English lessons – with a summer move reportedly on the cards.

This move has filled the Transfer Tavern with excitement, with Vidal undoubtedly one of the finest players currently playing in Europe. A midfield enforcer, Vidal and the Premier League look like a match made in heaven.

 Conte Connection

Antonio Conte hasn’t gone for Arturo Vidal out of the blue, the two actually have a pretty significant connection.

Vidal was at Juventus when Antonio Conte was manager, having played for the now-Chelsea boss for 3 years before moving to Bayern Munich.

Together, they enjoyed a lot of success – and Vidal was, alongside Pogba, an absolutely vital part of the Juventus midfield.

It is difficult to deny that Antonio Conte’s midfield options are limited, and that Arturo Vidal would offer a fantastic option for the Italian.

N’Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic have done well this season, and Cesc Fabregas is a decent option to have, but Arturo Vidal is in a different league.
