£30m man in: How Man Utd’s attack could look if Mourinho gets his man this summer

The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are beginning to get rather excited about the summer transfer window.

With their title hopes losing team a few months ago, it has been a difficult start to 2018 for the Red Devils. They’ve crashed out of Europe, and they’ve struggled for form.

However, when you compare them to the team that Louis van Gaal oversaw, it’s clear that they are much improved.

Another summer could be just what they need to truly begin to compete at the top, with some big transfers likely to be made by Jose Mourinho and Ed Woodward.

One player that has, this week, been linked with a move to Man Utd is Chelsea star Willian. Jose Mourinho is a big fan of the Brazilian, and an apparent £30 million move could be on the cards.

An attacking midfielder by trade, it’s tough to see where he would fit in at Old Trafford – given the quality that Jose Mourinho already has. However, you’d only expect him to move if he was guaranteed game time, and our landlord thinks that he has found the perfect line-up to make the most out of him.

With that said, this is how Man Utd’s attack could look if Mourinho gets his summer transfer wish…

RW – Willian

Willian has been in and out of the Chelsea first team this season, but he’s a player that Jose Mourinho loves, and so you’d expect him to come right into the team.

He’s best utilised on the right-hand side of the attack, and that’s how you would expect him to be used at Old Trafford.

Providing electric pace and technique, he’ll be looking to move past players and set up attacks for the players around him.

But who could he be joined by? Read on to find out…

CAM – Jesse Lingard

Who would have thought that Jesse Lingard would be one of the first names on the team sheets this season, let alone next season?

He has been simply sensational this season, and he deserves a lot of credit for how he has turned his career around.

The Englishman has a task on his hands to keep up his great form, but he clearly has the potential.

LW – Alexis Sanchez

It hasn’t quite happened for Alexis Sanchez yet.

The Chilean was one of the Premier League’s best at Arsenal, but after a long debacle over his transfer in January, he hasn’t quite lived up to the hype.

That said, he’s a top player, and Mourinho will persist with him next year at least.

ST – Romelu Lukaku

Romelu Lukaku has been brought in to be Man Utd’s first choice for the next few years at least, and so Jose Mourinho will be calling on him throughout next season, you would expect.

After a stuttering start, he appears to have grown in confidence at Old Trafford as of late, and next season he’s only going to get better.

There aren’t many better when he’s at the top of his game.
