City’s warrior of a centre-half has ironed out any doubts in his performances from last season, as he takes up the form of a rock in this current campaign.
With the Argentine becoming one of the most-improved defenders in the top-flight, he’s now beginning to show exactly why they brought him to the Etihad.
CB: Elaquim Mangala
French defender Elaquim Mangala has spent most of his time this season on the bench, but due to injuries that saw John Stones and Vincent Kompany depart from the side he’ll be looking to make the most of it.
So, with him struggling for chances to prove himself, there’s no better time than the present. Yet another Guardiola has improved beyond measure and someone who can be relied upon to help keep even the most potent of attacks out.
