4-2-3-1: If Koeman picks this XI, Everton will destroy Bournemouth

The Toffees fans in the Transfer Tavern are enjoying life under Ronald Koeman as they dream of European qualification.

This weekend Everton face Bournemouth at home as they look to push for European qualification. The Cherries have been impressive under Eddie Howe but their away form has been poor with just two wins out of twelve.

The Toffees are having a great season; they currently sit seventh in the Premier League. Meanwhile, their home form has been decent if not brilliant with six wins from eleven including an impressive 4-0 win against Man City.

Ronald Koeman is one the most exciting managers in the world and the Dutchman will see this game as a must win fixture as he continues to grow his reputation and lead Everton in to Europe.

Our landlord at the Tavern believes Everton are looking stronger than ever; Romelu Lukaku is in top form, they have truly exciting youth prospects coming through and Ross Barkley is nearly back to his best.

That in mind, then, Everton should field this XI to destroy Bournemouth this weekend…

GK: Joel Robles

The Spaniard has been in top form since stepping in for Maarten Stekelenburg and now appears to be the Everton number 1. Since his arrival in the first XI Everton have been much better in the league.

RB: Seamus Coleman

The Irishman is an attacking force in the Everton team and has been amongst the goals of late too.

Coleman’s pace and delivery will be vital in helping to unlock a well organised Bournemouth defence. Expect an epic battle between the Irishman and Bournemouth’s Charlie Daniels at left back.

CB: Ashley Williams

The experienced Welsh defender has been ever present for Everton this season and continues to flourish as a leader.

Against a lively Bournemouth front line with the likes of Benik Afobe it is certain that Ashley Williams will have his work cut our for him.

CB: Ramiro Funes Mori

The Argentine defender has been a big part of Everton’s recent great form and now appears ahead of Phil Jagielka in the team. Funes Mori will need to stand tall against the Cherries attacking threat.

LB: Leighton Baines

The experienced defender will also be handed more attacking responsibility this weekend and the fans favourite will not let them down. Here at the Tavern, the Toffees fans have watched their hero over the years and still believe he has the greatest left foot in the league.

CDM: Morgan Schneiderlin

The Frenchman is still finding his feet at Everton as he begins to blend with the squad. This game against the Cherries will be a crucial step for him as he looks to cement his place in the first team. He’ll also have the unenviable job of keeping Jack Wilshere quiet.

CDM: Tom Davies

The hugely impressive 18-year-old announced his arrival in the 4-0 win against Man City and appears destined for an exciting career. Ronald Koeman is known for developing young talent and Tom Davies has really taken his opportunity well.

CAM: Ross Barkley

The England starlet has failed to fulfil his true potential, much to the frustration of the Everton faithful. However, Koeman does appear to be getting the best out of him of late and his form is much improved. If Ross Barkley ‘turns up’ for this game then Harry Arter will be in for a long afternoon.

RAM: Kevin Mirallas

The Belgian winger has recently been deployed as a centre forward, to little effect, but here at the Tavern we believe he is best utilised as a right sided attacker.  As part of this formation he’ll get plenty of opportunity to drive at the Bournemouth back-line and link up with fellow Belgian Romelu Lukaku.

LAM: ADEMOLA LOOKMAN

The recent acquisition of Ademola Lookman further demonstrates Koeman’s commitment to investing in youth. The former Charlton Athletic winger has already notched up a goal for Everton and looks like an exciting talent for the future. The Cherries are the perfect team for the young Englishman to truly announce his arrival in the Premier League.

ST: ROMELU LUKAKU

The Bournemouth defence will be having sleepless nights ahead of their clash this weekend trying to figure out how to stop the prolific Belgian striker. Romelu Lukaku has hit twelve goals in 21 appearances and is in terrific form. Steve Cook and Simon Francis will have to be at their very best to keep the Everton star quiet.
