The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are still celebrating their emphatic result against West Ham on the opening weekend.

Manchester United lay top of the Premier League table after the end of the first weekend of fixtures for the 2017/18 season, something that is quite the rarity nowadays.

The Red Devils’ 4-0 domination over West Ham at Old Trafford on Sunday showed some very positive signs going forward for Jose Mourinho’s side.

Their next challenge is at the Liberty Stadium as they face Paul Clement’s Swansea City.

If United can show the same dominating performance in Wales on Saturday then they should be expecting to pick up another three points to continue their good start to the league season.

Mourinho is unlikely to mess with a winning formula but there could be a few changes from his lineup against Slaven Bilic’s side.

On that note, here is the starting XI Mourinho should field to comfortably see off Swansea on Saturday.

GK: David De Gea

There isn’t much that can be said about David De Gea that hasn’t already been said.

A stark improvement of the player he was when he first joined United, De Gea has evolved into one of if not the best goalkeeper in the world today.

An obvious choice for Mourinho and probably the first name on the team sheet.

RB: Antonio Valencia

The longest serving United player in their starting line-up against West Ham, Antonio Valencia has been a player reborn since he adjusted into the right back position.

He’s still got the legs to play an entire season and his experience having played in some great United sides of the past makes him a big voice in the dressing room.

CB: Phil Jones

After stating that he doesn’t believe Victor Lindelof is ready to start Premier League games just yet, Phil Jones was put back into the side by Mourinho and gave a solid performance.

Granted West Ham didn’t offer too much going forward but when the likes of Javier Hernandez began moving forward, Jones was ready and waiting.

CB: Eric Bailly

Eric Bailly put in an equally good performance at the back again the Hammers.

He has quickly become a United fan favourite during his short time at the club and that is simply down to his top-quality performances.

Swansea should provide no real problems for a defender of his quality.

LB: Daley Blind

Another player who wasn’t truly tested on the opening day of the season.

Daley Blind put in a decent performance and in all honesty if United’s forwards keep playing the way they are playing then games like West Ham and Swansea will be more about getting their defence’s fitness up.

He didn’t have to do much but what he did do, he did well.

CDM: Nemanja Matic

One of the three ‘Chelsea rejects’ in the Man United starting line-up against West Ham.

Nemanja Matic showed his class on his Premier League debut for the Red Devils with a fantastic performance.

He played with confidence and poise, and the amount of running he did freed up a certain French midfielder to move further up the pitch.

CDM: Paul Pogba

Obviously, that certain French midfielder is Paul Pogba.

Sunday’s game was the first time, in our landlord’s opinion, that Paul Pogba has looked like a truly world class player in a Man United shirt.

He was a handful all afternoon for the Hammers’ defence and got a goal to boot.

An easy pick for Mourinho against Swansea.

RAM: Juan Mata

Juan Mata put in another trademark performance for United as he always seems to do.

One of those players who will always give you a minimum 7/10 performance if not much better.

He could have had a goal too if he had read Romelu Lukaku’s nod down early in the first half but that is something that will come with time.

CAM: Anthony Martial

This is the big change that our landlord would make to the United starting line-up from the West Ham game.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan didn’t have a bad game at all, far from it.

But Anthony Martial managed a goal and an assist in ten minutes on the pitch.

That has got to garner some sort of reaction from Mourinho and unfortunately, that might mean having to drop their Armenian superstar.

LAM: Marcus Rashford

Marcus Rashford put in a performance that was reminiscent of when he first burst onto the scene a few years ago.

His pace on the counter played a huge role in the first goal of the game and had it not been for the post denying him, he would have had a goal to his name too.

His link up play with new man Lukaku was a joy to watch.
