The Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern are starting to worry for their team as Guardiola’s men have now gone two Premier League games without a win.

However, all doubt could be put the rest when they play Southampton on Sunday.

The two games that they have recently lost in the league were against an unbeaten Spurs and an in-form Everton side – so you could argue that their results were par for the course.

Nevertheless, Southampton will still pose a threat to the title challengers – so they will need their best players to be on the pitch and performing like the world class stars they are.

With that said, this 4-2-3-1 Man City XI will destroy Southampton on Sunday

 GK: Claudio Bravo

The new man in the net has not had the greatest of times at Manchester City after conceding 5 goals in 5 league games.

However, Pep Guardiola trusts the sweeper keeper to perform to his full ability this season and compared to the other options at City – he is a certain starter in this XI.

 LB: Aleksander Kolarov

Kolarov is a player who has not really impressed in this strong City squad.

However, he can do a solid job defensively while also being a threat for set pieces. I don’t expect a stand out performance from Kolarov, but he should be able to do the job that Pep will want him to do.

 CB: John Stones

John Stones is one of those players that you have to pick in this starting XI. Since arriving at Manchester City from Everton he has fully cemented himself as a first team regular.

The 22-year-old has played every game in the Premier League for Guardiola and despite City’s match against Tottenham, the Englishman has put on some unbelievable defensive displays.

The Man City fans in the Tavern feel relaxed by the bar when Stones plays the ball from the back.

CB: Nicolás Otamendi

Otamendi has done a decent job this season and deserves to be put into the starting XI.

If Kompany was fitter then the Belgian probably would have been picked over him, however Otamendi is certainly not a bad player to have partnering Stones.

While Kompany has been sidelined this season, Otamendi has proved that he can be a valuable member of Pep’s squad.

 RB: Pablo Zabaleta

Pablo Zabaleta makes the side because he seems to be a better fit to Pep’s style over Sagna. His performances haven’t been great and despite being the captain against Tottenham, he was benched against Everton.

However, Zabalata should be able to do what is needed of him and keep tight defensively.

 CM: Fernandinho

Fernandinho seems like a different player under Pep Guardiola.

The former Shakhtar midfielder has become an anchor-man under Pep, dropping back and allowing the full-backs to play more offensively.

 CM: David Silva

Many Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern will scratch their heads by the bar over the inclusion of David Silva in central midfield.

However, it is important to note that Silva started this season as a CM and arguably he has performed his best when occupying a deeper role.

Against Southampton, Silva will be more of an attacking threat than the likes of Gundogan or Delph and that should help Man City dominate the game on Sunday.

Silva has already got 1 goal and 3 assists in 9 games and against an inconsistent Southampton side he could increase that tally on Sunday.

 LW: Nolito

When Nolito signed for Man City this season many fans were quick to look at their phones by the pool table to research their relatively unknown signing.

While Nolito has already got a red card to his name this season, the tricky Spanish winger has shown glimpses of excellence for City.

With 3 goals already in the Premier League, Nolito may be able to score some goals against an unpredictable Southampton Side.

 CAM: Kevin De Bruyne

Chelsea’s hidden gem slipped through the cracks, went to the Bundesliga and arrived at Manchester City a star.

So far Kevin De Bruyne has got 5 assists in 7 games for City and if his form continues then he could set up a few more goals on Sunday.

 RW: Raheem Sterling

Like Fernandinho, Sterling also looks like a man transformed thanks to Pep Guardiola.

This season he has proven that not only can he assist but he also has an eye for goal with 4 goals and 3 assists in 8 league games.

 ST: Sergio Agüero

Leading the line for City is Agüero and when fully fit he can be one of the most dangerous strikers in the league.

Overall the Argentine has 11 goals in 9 games and he will be City’s main focal point when it comes to getting the goals on Sunday.
