Arsenal fans here in the Transfer Tavern are over the moon after coming from behind to beat Stoke City this weekend.

Rightly so too, the Gunners came from behind to overcome a tough Potters outfit in a game that very much swung in the Londoners favour in the second half, thanks to goals from from Mesut Ozil and Alex Iwobi.

But with a busy Christmas schedule on the horizon for both outfits, it’s important that Arsene Wenger’s side keep up the good run up to and after the new year.

And things don’t let up anytime soon, as they travel to Goodison Park in the week as they look to secure their fourth win on the spin.

Everton are slightly out-of-form and after yet another defeat this weekend, there is no reason why the Gunners shouldn’t travel to Merseyside and pick up all three points on the night.

Armed with some fantastic knowledge from our Gunners-mad landlord, we think we’ve got the right starting lineup that will get all three points on in the week.

So with that in mind, here’s our Arsenal XI that we think will smash the Toffees on Tuesday evening…

GK: Petr Cech

Petr Cech is very much Arsenal’s number one keeper and that doesn’t look like changing anytime soon.

Ospina and Martinez are nowhere near the first-team and the former Chelsea man will continue to keep his place between the sticks for the entirety of the season.

RB: Hector Bellerin

He’s been rushed back into the first-team fold because of injuries and Hector Bellerin will now definitely start the game against Everton on Tuesday night.

He’s one of the best full-backs in the division and his presence back in the first-team could be decisive in Arsenal getting another three points.

CB: Rob Holding

With Shkodran Mustafi out injured with a hamstring strain, responsibility could fall on the shoulders of Rob Holding to come into the side throughout the New Year.

The young defender had a tough start to his Arsenal career after the defeat to Liverpool on the opening day of the season but he’ll have to mature quickly now his team are relying on him to perform.

CB: Laurent Koscielny

He’s very much the rock at the heart of the defence these days and it will be up to Laurent Koscielny to keep things tight at the back during a busy period for the Gunners.

They’re without Mustafi until the New Year and he will very much have to look out for Rob Holding if he comes into the first-team.

Romelu Lukaku will prove no easy target-man to keep quiet- he’s in-form, despite his team’s lack of overall results in recent weeks.

LB: Nacho Monreal

One of the most dependable defenders in the league, Nacho Monreal’s importance in this Arsenal side cannot be underestimated.

Whether it be old-fashioned defending or joining in with the attacks, the Spaniard is vital to Wenger’s title cuase.

CDM: Francis Coquelin

Francis Coquelin has quickly developed into one of the best young holding players in the division and it’s good to see him doing so well in the first-team after biding his time as a youngster.

He has his doubters here in the pub but after some good performances in recent weeks, he could once again prove them wrong on the pitch.

CDM: Granit Xhaka

Swiss international Granit Xhaka has been a solid addition to this Arsenal side and he adds plenty of muscle to the midfield.

He’s had his problems with discipline both here in England and in Germany but when he’s on his game and can control his head, he’s as good as any other holding player in the division.

RM: Theo Walcott

Theo Walcott is having one of his best seasons for a long while and his current tally of ten goals is one of the better scoring records in the Premier League.

Although he’s frequently being played out wide, he’s managing to create chances and do a lot of work for the team, something he’s sometimes struggled with in the past when having to cut in from the flank.

CAM: Mesut Ozil

Mesut Ozil has been the heartbeat of this Arsenal team for a number of years now and little has changed as he aims to help his side to the Premier League title come the end of the season.

He scored a rare headed goal against Stoke on the weekend and will hope to grab some more goals to add to his already decent tally of nine scored already this campaign.

LM: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain looks like a revitalised man this campaign and the fact he’s now undergone fresh contract talks shows how well he’s done after a disappointing couple of seasons.

Like Ozil, he bagged in the win over Stoke City on Saturday and more good form will only help Arsenal towards a potential Premier League title.

Some punters here in the pub think he could be doing more to help his team at times but right now, he’s ticking along quite nicely indeed.

ST: Alexis Sanchez

At the Emirates these days, it always seems like a toss up between Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez as to who gets the nod upfront.

But Sanchez is in as good form as ever and for the whole team, we think he brings that little bit more than the Frenchman both offensively and in terms of general work rate.

He’s a popular man in the Tavern too and we don’t think too many Arsenal fans would be happy to see him dropped.
