To say they were irate at the end of their game with Bournemouth is a massive understatement, as they managed to lose 4-3 to the Cherries despite being 3-1 with little under quarter of an hour to go.

It was a horror show defensively from the Reds who saw their good attacking play completely undone by repeated mistakes at the back and now they need to respond quickly to preserve their title challenge.

They host West Ham at Anfield this weekend and will be looking for a far more assured performance with Jurgen Klopp undoubtedly working them hard on the training ground.

Our landlord thinks they will redeem themselves, too, as long as they go with this line-up on Sunday…

GK: Loris Karius

Karius dropped a clanger to gift Bournemouth the win last time out but there’s no point in bringing him out the side just yet. He needs to prove himself in this game but if he doesn’t then it’ll be time to sit on the bench.

RB: Nathaniel Clyne

Clyne will play here and will be crucial in helping the Reds overcome the Hammers wing backs. Him and Sadio Mane could be the crucial factors for this one.

CB: Dejan Lovren

Lovren had the chance to prove himself as good as Joel Matip at the weekend but suggested he is anything but as he crumbled. The return of the former Schalke man should see him raise his game here.

Matip’s proving to already be hugely vital to the Reds and he should be back for this game. His calmness is exactly what they missed last weekend as they blew it.

LB: James Milner

Milner had an uncharacteristically erratic time of it on Sunday and will look to put that right here. He’s been good this season, though, and shouldn’t receive too much criticism.

CM: Jordan Henderson

The captain couldn’t sort his team out in the second half and that may be worrying for Klopp.

The Reds skipper has been in solid form this year, though, and will look to show his leadership against the Hammers.

CM: Emre Can

Can has managed to add the one thing that was really missing from his game in recent weeks – goals. He’s scored against the likes of Crystal Palace and Bournemouth at the weekend so he’ll want to add more here.

CM: Adam Lallana

Lallana is back from his injury and could be the key to the Reds getting back to winning ways. He’ll come in for Wijnaldum who doesn’t offer the same kind of attacking threat.

RW: Sadio Mane

Whilst those around him lost their heads Mane was still at a fine level before being subbed. He scored again at the weekend and proved that the Reds can manage without Philippe Coutinho.
