The biggest game in English football will soon be upon us once again and here in the Transfer Tavern we can’t wait for Liverpool and Manchester United to face off at Anfield on Monday night.
The two biggest clubs in the country are well-known for absolutely despising each other and our landlord has to make sure the rival sets of fans keep things in check around this fixture.
It’s pretty good natured by the bar, though, as where things will really be heating up will be Anfield come 8pm on the 17th.
The home side go into the game as the form side against their old foes who are looking to firmly establish themselves back amongst the title contenders this season.
They’ve already lost one big game against Manchester City this season, though, and our landlord reckons, with this line-up, it’ll be Liverpool celebrating the sweetest of victories come full-time…
Loris Karius

He seems to be Jurgen Klopp’s first choice and so should start.
Nathaniel Clyne

Clyne should be back from an injury and will start at right back as ever.
Dejan Lovren

The Croatian has improved this season, and looks back to his best.
Carrying an injury, but should be fit.
Joel Matip

(function(){var ids=["snack_dex5","snack_dex6"];var els=document.querySelectorAll("div.snack-rpt-d:not([id])");for(var i=0;i<els.length&&i<ids.length;i++){els[i].id=ids[i];}})(); (function(){var ids=["snack_mex4","snack_mex5","snack_mex6","snack_mex7"];var els=document.querySelectorAll("div.snack-rpt-m:not([id])");for(var i=0;i<els.length&&i<ids.length;i++){els[i].id=ids[i];}})();
Matip looks calm and solid and that’s exactly what the Reds needed at the back.
James Milner

(function(){var ids=["snack_dex5","snack_dex6"];var els=document.querySelectorAll("div.snack-rpt-d:not([id])");for(var i=0;i<els.length&&i<ids.length;i++){els[i].id=ids[i];}})(); (function(){var ids=["snack_mex4","snack_mex5","snack_mex6","snack_mex7"];var els=document.querySelectorAll("div.snack-rpt-m:not([id])");for(var i=0;i<els.length&&i<ids.length;i++){els[i].id=ids[i];}})();
The consummate professional, Milner will start at left-back.
Emre Can

With Adam Lallana a possible injury doubt, Can should come in to add some steel.
(function(){var ids=["snack_dex5","snack_dex6"];var els=document.querySelectorAll("div.snack-rpt-d:not([id])");for(var i=0;i<els.length&&i<ids.length;i++){els[i].id=ids[i];}})(); (function(){var ids=["snack_mex4","snack_mex5","snack_mex6","snack_mex7"];var els=document.querySelectorAll("div.snack-rpt-m:not([id])");for(var i=0;i<els.length&&i<ids.length;i++){els[i].id=ids[i];}})();
Jordan Henderson

He’s growing into his role as the Liverpool captain and will want to put on a show here.
(function(){var ids=["snack_dex5","snack_dex6"];var els=document.querySelectorAll("div.snack-rpt-d:not([id])");for(var i=0;i<els.length&&i<ids.length;i++){els[i].id=ids[i];}})(); (function(){var ids=["snack_mex4","snack_mex5","snack_mex6","snack_mex7"];var els=document.querySelectorAll("div.snack-rpt-m:not([id])");for(var i=0;i<els.length&&i<ids.length;i++){els[i].id=ids[i];}})();
Georginio Wijnaldum

The Dutchman is looking like a good signing more and more and will want to add further evidence here.
Sadio Mane

(function(){var ids=["snack_dex5","snack_dex6"];var els=document.querySelectorAll("div.snack-rpt-d:not([id])");for(var i=0;i<els.length&&i<ids.length;i++){els[i].id=ids[i];}})(); (function(){var ids=["snack_mex4","snack_mex5","snack_mex6","snack_mex7"];var els=document.querySelectorAll("div.snack-rpt-m:not([id])");for(var i=0;i<els.length&&i<ids.length;i++){els[i].id=ids[i];}})();
He’s been a real hit but would further that status with a good performance against the Red Devils.
Philippe Coutinho

He loves the big games and they don’t come much bigger than this.
(function(){var ids=["snack_dex5","snack_dex6"];var els=document.querySelectorAll("div.snack-rpt-d:not([id])");for(var i=0;i<els.length&&i<ids.length;i++){els[i].id=ids[i];}})(); (function(){var ids=["snack_mex4","snack_mex5","snack_mex6","snack_mex7"];var els=document.querySelectorAll("div.snack-rpt-m:not([id])");for(var i=0;i<els.length&&i<ids.length;i++){els[i].id=ids[i];}})();
Roberto Firmino

He’s Klopp’s perfect striker and will want to show exactly why in this massive fixture.
