The Everton fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are not happy with the state of their squad…

The Toffees have had a flyer so far under their flying Dutchman Ronald Koeman, who got it just right in the summer with his additions to their squad.

After turning Southampton into one of the deadliest sides in the Premier League – it looks like he’s doing the same on Merseyside.

However, we feel that there is still some dead wood that many fans wouldn’t mind seeing the back of – either due a lack of game time or a simple lack of quality.

With that said, here are FOUR players Everton fans will have to say bye-bye too this January…

Darron Gibson

The Irish central midfielder has found his chances cut under Ronald Koeman.

When he first arrived from Manchester United, he came with a lot of expectation after breaking into Sir Alex Ferguson’s team.

He did feature on occasion, but the now 28-year-old never really lived up to the hype and we feel he’d be more suited in a lower division in order to try to rejuvenate his career.

Aaron Lennon

With Kevin Mirallas back to his best under Koeman, as well as having Bolasie and Deulofeu at his disposal – Aaron Lennon has found his opportunities reduce in recent months.

The former England and Spurs man isn’t getting any younger and he will likely be one on Koeman’s list to flog in January.

For sure the 29-year-old can still do it in the Premier League – and we are sure plenty will be interested in him.

Tom Cleverley

He was a player with such promise after brilliant loan spells away from Old Trafford as youngster – but it has never really worked out for Tom Cleverley.

He had a decent start to life at Everton, but he just never recuperated the form he showed on-loan at Wigan Athletic and Aston Villa.

Now at 27-years-old, he must look for a team where he will feature more and get time on the pitch to try and re-build his career.

Oumar Niasse

Oumar Niasse arrived at Everton with high expectations from Lokomotiv Moscow last January under Roberto Martinez – but it never really got going for the striker.

He hasn’t featured in the first team and has been told already by Koeman to find a new club if he wishes to play football again.

Featuring for the U-23’s at Everton is the best it’ll get for Premier League flop. He will probably have to look outside of England to try and breath life into his career again.
