4 players Man City fans need to say bye-bye to in January

The punters at the Football Transfer Tavern have been very impressed with Manchester City so far this season…

Despite this, Pep Guardiola will always be striving for the best and will be looking to bring in new talent during the January transfer window – and let go players who are not impacting the team in a good enough way.

Some players have been left out in the cold by the manager, some have picked up injuries and some will simply be looking for some game time – but there are definitely players who could be moved on in January.

The punters at the Tavern bar have been discussing who they feel Manchester City need to say bye bye to this January.

The landlord has been listening and here are the FOUR players that he and others in the Tavern think will be moving on in the next transfer window…

Do you agree with these picks and who do you think should be leaving the Etihad in January? Let us know.

 Yaya Toure

Toure

It was made pretty clear from the moment that Pep Guardiola walked through the doors of the Etihad that Yaya Toure was going to be left out in the cold – so it is surprising that the Ivorian wasn’t moved on.

His agent has made some comments which will further harm the relationship between Guardiola and Toure and so it seems as though there is next to no chance of him getting back in the side.

Yaya Toure is still a brilliant player, so unless he miraculously gets himself back in the manager’s plans – he needs to move on sooner rather than later.

 Jesus Navas

navas

With Raheem Sterling performing well and the likes of Nolito and Leroy Sane now in the City squad, it seems as though Jesus Navas is getting further away from a starting place all the time.

The Spanish winger has never really been able to set the Etihad alight, and with the talent available to Guardiola, it could be time for Jesus Navas to be moved on.

He could still do a job for a lot of teams, but his end product is not good enough for a team like Manchester City.

 Vincent Kompany

There is no doubt that Vincent Kompany is an incredible defender and inspiring leader.

However the fact that he has been regularly picking up injuries could tempt Guardiola and the Manchester City board to cash in on their club captain.

The Belgian recently made a return from injury against Swansea City in the EFL Cup, only to pick up a new injury in the same game.

He was a key component of a lot of City’s recent achievements, but it could be time for him to move on.

 Tosin Adarabioyo

Tosin Adarabioyog

There is no way that Manchester City would sell Tosin Adarabioyo, as he is one of their most exciting defenders to come through the academy.

However a loan spell away from the club could benefit the England Under 19 international.

Players such as Patrick Roberts have gone out on loan and really seized their chance to impress, and if Adarabioyo was able to do that then it could help him to force his way towards a place in the starting line up in the future.
