Phillipe Coutinho ended what was a disappointing season at Liverpool with yet again more upset as his Brazil side were dumped out of the Copa America at the Group Stages, for only the second time in the country’s history.
While it may have been an underwhelming season on the whole – personally it was a successful one for Coutinho, who was the stand-out player both club and country over the course of the year.
The midfield playmaker finished the season as Liverpool’s second top goal scorer and Brazil’s top, as he scored an eye-catching hat-trick in the 7-1 thrashing of Haiti in the group stages of this years tournament.
His performances were impressive enough to warrant plenty of transfer speculation, including supposed interest from European giants Barcelona, who are allegedly keen on bringing the Liverpool dynamo to the Nou Camp this summer.
Coutinho however recently hinted his allegiance to the Anfield faithful, much to their delight, as he suggested that his future lies with the merseyside club as he is ‘happy’ under Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.
Our local Liverpool fans are elated, but our landlord thinks it is an unwise move on the Brazilian’s part. He has given us his 4 reasons Coutinho should leave Liverpool this summer for pastures new.….

Champions League Football
The Reds failed to qualify for any kind of European football next season, having finished 9th in the table this season and failing to win both the League Cup and Europa League, despite reaching both of the competitions finals.
Coutinho has the ability to mix it with Europe’s best, and hence should be looking to do next season.
A move to a bigger side would give him the opportunity to flaunt his stuff on the world stage.
International Prospects
Even though Coutinho impressed more so than any other at the Copa America this year, the dismal group stage exit and subsequent sacking of manager Dunga means there will likely be a huge overhaul for Brazil over the next few years.
If Coutinho wants to keep his name in the mixing pot for the 2018 World Cup, he needs to be plying his trade for one of Europe’s big boys and in Europe to best demonstrate his worthiness of international football.
Anfield Hero? No thanks
Many would say that Coutinho has the potential to become an Anfield hero if he is to stay at the club and guide them to the success of their long gone past.
Being loyal and remaining at the Anfield hasn’t got many of their past stars very far however.
Take Steven Gerrard – loyal till to a tee – but will only be remembered for costing his side the Premier League title back in 2014.
Kenny Dalglish become one, only to be sacked as manager from the club later in his career. Would Coutinho rather be an Anfield hero or a global superstar?
Luis Suarez
Liverpool’s hero between 2011-2014, Suarez didn’t hesitate once an offer from Barcelona came in and swiftly made the move to the Camp Nou.
While impressive at Anfield, the Uruguayan has reached new heights in Spain and has thrived while playing amongst some of Europe’s most talented players.
Coutinho could do the same if he were to follow his ex-teammate out of Merseyside.
