The Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern cannot wait for the January Transfer Window…

Chelsea are linked with players almost every day in the Tavern, and that has left the Chelsea fans in attendance raring to go ahead of the January Transfer Window.

The Blues have made a good start to the season, but there is definitely room for improvement.

Antonio Conte has made the best out of his squad thus far, but the draw with Swansea proved that the Blues are far from the finished article.

Conte must be looking ahead to January, and preparing to splash the cash ahead of a hectic last few months of the season.

With that said, here are FOUR transfers Chelsea can’t afford to miss out on in January…

Romelu Lukaku

The Belgian striker has made an electric start to the Premier League season, and he has shown Chelsea exactly what they missed out on over the summer.

Whilst Diego Costa has made an equally strong start to the season, Lukaku’s performances have left Chelsea fans in the Tavern dreaming of what could have been.

A partnership between Lukaku and Costa could be absolutely unstoppable – and Antonio Conte must go back in for Lukaku so he can utilise them together.

 Stefan De Vrij

Whilst Chelsea did invest in David Luiz over the summer, the imminent departure of John Terry at the end of the season means that Chelsea must delve back into the transfer market ahead of his departure.

Stefan De Vrij is a solid defender, currently playing for Lazio – and could be a perfect fit.

Having made 30 international caps, despite being just 24 years old, De Vrij is a veteran with his best years ahead of him – and that is exactly what the Blues need ahead of next season.

He can also do a job this season – providing additional cover for a shaky David Luiz and an aged John Terry.

 Niklas Sule

Another potential defensive option that the Blues could look towards is Niklas Sule.

Despite his young age, Sule is a veteran of the Bundesliga – and could provide Chelsea with defensive stability for the best part of a decade.

He has gone from strength to strength over the last few years – and the Blues defence could do with some German efficiency.

He has all the potential in the world, so he won’t be cheap – but he would be worth every penny.

 James Rodriguez

The landmark signing.

James Rodriguez could be on the move in the new year given his lack of game time for Real Madrid, with the Columbian midfielder often having to sit out in favor of stars like Ronaldo and Bale.

That is not to say Rodriguez is a bad player – far from it. Madrid simply have an abundance of riches, and Rodriguez has simply been unlucky not to get the nod ahead of Zidane’s other choices.

Chelsea could pick him up in January in place of a departing Cesc Fabregas – and he could prove a real hit in the Premier League.
