Chelsea’s season has been nothing short of shambolic in the Premier League and the Blues punters in the Transfer Tavern still haven’t got used to the idea of next year without Champions League football.
Sure, it’s still mathematically possible for Chelsea to complete a sensational revival and finish in the top four, but anyone that’s watched the defending champions this season will tell you it simply won’t happen.
Chelsea have been in disastrous form and whilst many fans will still back Jose Mourinho, it’s quite clear to those on the outside that his behaviour and attitude dragged the club into disarray, contributing to a sensational downfall.
That said, it can’t all be pinned to Mourinho and whilst Chelsea remain unbeaten under Guus Hiddink, the Blues still haven’t quite found their gear and the players on the field have been sub-par to say the least.
Chelsea fans will be particularly unhappy with the performances of these five players, who have been pretty dire throughout.

Eden Hazard
Heralded last year as on par with Cristiano Ronaldo, which is absolutely hilarious and always keeps us amused, Eden Hazard this season has been abysmal. He’s lacked the decisiveness and cutting edge that made him a star last term, losing the strengths in his game.
Quite simply, it looks like the Belgian is already out of Chelsea in his head and it seems like there’s no way back for the excellent winger. His exit from the Blues looks almost inevitable and Chelsea are fortunate they’re in a strong bargaining position, as his form this season could have seen many millions knocked off his transfer fee.
John Terry
Barring sentimental value, is there any reason John Terry should stay at Chelsea? The only way for it to be beneficial was if the former England captain took up a coaching role, as Terry on the field this year has been pretty woeful.
Every point of his previously strong game has declined dramatically and the experienced defender has looked out of sorts. Chelsea need to start preparing for his departure, as his decline has already begun, and it’s sad to see such a successful player struggling so much.
Branislav Ivanovic
Similar to John Terry, Branislav Ivanovic has been pretty woeful this season. He’s come a long way under Guus Hiddink, and is pretty incomparable to the abysmal player we saw at the beginning of the season, but it’s clear his long-term future is coming to a close.
With Cesar Azpilicueta naturally a right-back, Chelsea would find it extremely beneficial to put the Spaniard in his favoured position and sort out the left-side of their defence. Ivanovic is now the wrong side of 30 and his struggles this season could spell the end.
Radamel Falcao
Where on earth do you start with Radamel Falcao? It was a major risk when Chelsea took a chance on him after a poor spell at Manchester United but somehow the Colombian has managed to make his displays last year look acceptable.
His performances at Chelsea have been appalling and you can count his goals in English football on one hand. It’s no surprise the Blues were looking to cut his spell short in January, as you’d be better off playing with ten men than have Falcao leading the line.
Pedro Rodriguez
For a player who’s won everything there is to win in Spain and international level, as well as a number of European Cups, you’d expect more from Pedro Rodriguez. He impressed on his debut against West Brom but since then he’s curtailed significantly.
Pedro looks nothing like the player he was at Barcelona and he’s showing himself to be the latest in what’s becoming a long-line of Chelsea transfer flops. If the Blues are to turn there season around, they need this man to find his prime again, but there’s more chance of winning the lottery and getting struck by lightning on your way to cash in your ticket.
