Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are more nervous that ever recently, not least down to the fact that a few results could be the difference between finishing the season as Premier League champions or down in fourth once again.
With Pep Guardiola taking charge of Manchester City in the summer, Jurgen Klopp looking to build a successful Liverpool side and both Manchester United and Chelsea seeking managerial changes, Arsenal face a massive test to compete.
Arsene Wenger has a strong record in English football but he has been criticised for his lack of ambition in the transfer market, although that’s improved in recent years with the additions of Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and Petr Cech.
In order to continue challenging the top dogs in England and Europe, our punters feel that Arsenal need a massive transfer window in the summer and they’re keen to see Wenger splash the cash on some sensational additions.

Isco
The Spanish midfielder seems destined to leave Real Madrid this summer, as he grows frustrated with the lack of first-team football on offer. Should he leave, the Premier League is a likely destination for the talented international star.
Whilst Manchester City have links with Isco due to the midfielder’s relationship with former Malaga boss Manuel Pellegrini, that bridge will be knocked down this summer when Pep Guardiola takes charge. With the Citizens eying the likes of Paul Pogba, the likelihood of Isco moving to the Etihad is decreasing significantly.
Arsenal though have a massive chance of landing the Spaniard, in what would be an ideal transfer. Isco fits into their style of play brilliantly and he can be considered the long-term replacement for his ageing compatriot Santi Cazorla.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Whilst Olivier Giroud has been in fine form this season, Theo Walcott has failed to prove himself as a top-quality striker and Danny Welbeck continues to struggle through injury. As such, a phenomenal forward will be top of Arsenal fans’ wish-list.
The big name signing many want to see is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund, with the Gabonese international being heavily linked with the Gunners throughout the January window. Therefore, it seems a transfer for the Bundesliga ace is an immense possibility.
Arsenal would have to pay big bucks to land Aubameyang from the Bundesliga side but with the 26-year-old forward having scored 49 goals in 85 appearances in the German league, the Gunners would certainly get a brilliant return from their investment.
Grzegorz Krychowiak
Arsenal’s search for a combative defensive midfielder in recent seasons has seen Polish international Grzegorz Krychowiak continuously linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium. Whilst Sevilla have so far fended off interest successfully, a move could materialise this summer.
Despite signing a new deal with the Andalusian club back in November, the chances of Krychowiak leaving are still high. A massive reason for his possible exit is Sevilla’s failure to add to consecutive Europa League successes with a strong campaign in the Champions League.
With Sevilla trailing in the race for a top-four finish in La Liga, and the Europa League looking to be extremely competitive this season, Krychowiak may seek new pastures after the European Championships.
Granit Xhaka
From one talented midfielder to another, Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka was heavily linked to Arsenal in January and he’s made his desire to move to the Premier League clear. Whilst Liverpool also hold interest, the offer of Champions League football with the Gunners could be decisive.
The 23-year-old Swiss international has excelled in the Bundesliga and interest in his services are high. Manchester City have also been touted as potential suitors but Xhaka wants regular first-team football, which may not be on offer at the Etihad.
At Arsenal however, the chances of regularly featuring are significantly high- especially with Tomas Rosicky, Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini all set to leave the club this summer upon the expiration of their contracts.
Antoine Griezmann
Another quality forward Arsenal have had their eyes on for some time is Atletico Madrid superstar Antoine Griezmann, a player the Gunners have tracked since his days at Real Sociedad. A deal would be complicated to complete though and it’s clear signing Griezmann is the most unlikely transfer on this list.
Atletico are flying high and establishing their claim as a top European side once again, pushing Barcelona for the La Liga title and progressing comfortably into the knock-out stages of the Champions League. If Diego Simeone leaves though, Griezmann could follow.
Interest in Griezmann would be high if he does become available though and Arsenal wouldn’t be favourites for his signature.
