Arsenal are currently enjoying a relatively successful season, with the Gunners in the hunt for three trophies and showing good form in their quest to end a 12-year wait for the Premier League title.
Following the consecutive FA Cup victories, Arsenal are starting to show that they’re once again one of England’s superior sides and Arsene Wenger’s challenge will now be to improve their form in Europe.
Our punters believe that Wenger is very close to cracking the Champions League conundrum and that Arsenal are just a few men short of boasting one of the strongest line-ups in European football- and they’re confident Wenger will complete the jigsaw puzzle this year.
In their eyes, this summer will be an extremely exciting time for Arsenal fans as they look to build on the massive purchases in recent seasons, which have seen Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and Petr Cech all move to North London.
Now, with key signings eyed, our punters have identified five dream signings that they believe Wenger can deliver.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
One of the hottest strikers in Europe right now, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal. With Bayern Munich dominating the Bundesliga and it clear that Borussia Dortmund are a shadow of their former selves, the Gabon international could be tempted with a switch to the Premier League.
Olivier Giroud has been in fantastic form for Arsenal this season and a direct replacement isn’t necessary but the Gunners are short of attacking options, with Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck both struggling with injuries this season and often being fancied in a wide role.
Aubameyang could lead the line and his direct pace makes him a hybrid of both Giroud and Walcott, offering a massive threat for Arsenal’s attack.
Grzegorz Krychowiak
Whilst Arsenal have signed Mohamed Elneny this month, the Egyptian is a box-to-box midfielder and the Gunners still need defensive-midfield cover for Francis Coquelin. With Mathieu Flamini and Mikel Arteta both seeing their contracts expire at the end of the season, the Polish midfielder will be a top-target.
Adding Krychowiak will signify a major statement of intent from the Gunners and he’d add a wealth of depth to Arsene Wenger’s side, competing with Coquelin for a starting midfield role and giving Arsenal another option.
Whilst Arsenal already have a talented midfield, the loss of the two players mentioned above, and Tomas Rosicky, puts midfield signings as a priority.
Granit Xhaka
As we’ve mentioned, midfield recruits are a must for Arsenal will three experienced men reaching the end of their contracts in the summer and the Gunners must also prepare for the departure of Santi Cazorla, a key-player who is approaching the twilight years of his career.
Xhaka, a 23-year-old Swiss international, would be the ideal long-term replacement for Cazorla and he’s talked-up the possibility of an exit from Borussia Monchengladbach. Whilst the German side are adamant he’ll stay put this month, an exit for Xhaka is inevitable and Arsenal have a huge chance of emerging successful in this race.
Lars Bender
Presenting a different option to Grzegorz Krychowiak is Lars Bender, a defensive midfielder for Bayer Leverkusen who’s been on Arsenal’s shortlist for years. With the fight for Champions League football in the Bundesliga extremely tight, the German international may be tempted with an exit this summer.
Arsenal, of course, have a strong German contingent to help Bender settle with compatriots Mesut Ozil and Per Mertesacker leading stars for the Gunners, and there’s also youngster Serge Gnabry. Previously keen to remain in Leverkusen, this year might be the ideal time for Bender to move on.
Alvaro Morata
Arsenal’s need for another striker is well documented and Alvaro Morata is a quality up-and-coming striker in the continent, with years ahead of him at the highest level and the Spaniard already showing he has the qualities of becoming a leading striker in Europe.
The Gunners will face a wealth of competition to land Morata but the potential absence of Real Madrid on the market may be decisive, as Los Blancos have been slapped with a two-window transfer ban by world governing body FIFA.
Morata could develop into an Arsenal hero and he’d give Arsene Wenger a quality alternative, or replacement, for Olivier Giroud. There’s no doubt he’d improve Arsenal’s squad depth significantly.
