With Manchester United’s season looking almost dead in the water, the fans at the Transfer Tavern have been distracted by thinking about what top-quality players could be brought into Old Trafford at the end of the season.
Throughout the current campaign, the back pages of the tabloids have been covered with transfer speculation concerning the Red Devils, some of which appeals to the lads playing pool and some that have caused outrage.
We sat down with the boys and asked them a quick question, which dream signings do United have a genuine chance of completing this summer? After some careful deliberation, they presented us with five quality potential additions.
Whether or not United can land any of these dream signings remains to be seen but they should certainly try their luck.

Neymar
The poster-boy of Brazilian football is currently embroiled in a massive transfer saga, as negotiations with Barcelona concerning a new deal seem to have hit a bump in the road. As a result, top sides from across European football are circling like hawks.
Manchester United desperately want Neymar to be the face of a new era at their club and are prepared to match his astronomical £145m release-clause. However, the potential lack of Champions League football could be decisive and they may miss out on this significant deal.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Swedish legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic is nearing the end of his career but he still has goals in him. Add to the fact that he’s available on a free transfer at the end of the season and you’ve got yourself a potential bargain, which United would be daft to pass up.
Whilst he won’t be the answer to United’s problems in attack for the long-term, having Ibrahimovic in the team is something that would get the fans really pumped up. With success in Spain, Italy and France, Ibrahimovic may be keen to try his luck in England.
Cristiano Ronaldo
The dream signing for Manchester United ever since he left Old Trafford to join Barcelona, the chances of landing Cristiano Ronaldo seem more promising than ever. Whilst he’s stated he will stay with the Spanish giants until his deal expires in 2018, that may not be the case.
Real Madrid are looking to shake-up their squad and the seemingly inevitable addition of Eden Hazard from Chelsea would raise serious questions as to where Ronaldo fits in. Should a lucrative offer be tabled, Zinedine Zidane’s side may be tempted to cash-in.
John Stones
United’s back-line is in major need of a reshuffle and the fact of the matter is it hasn’t been strong enough since the departures of Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand. With United looking for long-term improvements, Everton’s John Stones fits the bill perfectly.
A number of top sides are keen on landing the England international but his desire to remain in the North West of England makes it a very small list of clubs he could join. Stones would never swap Merseyside blue for rivals Liverpool, which seemingly leaves United and Manchester City in a straight fight for his signature.
Harry Kane
Another England prospect who would fit in perfectly at Old Trafford is Tottenham Hotspur’s incredibly talented forward Harry Kane, who looks set to take the mantle from Wayne Rooney as England’s golden striker from this summer’s European Championships.
United’s desire to boast the very best of British talent means their interest in Kane isn’t surprising but with Spurs leading the Red Devil’s in the chase for Champions League football, United could miss out this summer.
However, this is a transfer link that is never likely to go away and United will continue to hold interest for as long as they possibly can.
