5 free transfers Liverpool should seriously consider this summer

In around 4 weeks we will see the conclusion of what has been a very eventful season with plenty of ups and downs and surprising title contenders contenders.

One club which has had an eventful season is Liverpool a poor start to the season saw previous boss Brendan Rodgers relieved of his duties as the club’s manager and replaced by the cool and calm aura of Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp is finally beginning to make his mark at Anfield and the club’s performances in the Europa League have been a positive for the Anfield club.

This summer will see the German coach able to put his own mark on the squad and he will no doubt be linked with numerous players who he was in charge of during his time at Borussia Dortmund.

Our landlord in The Tavern has been looking through the available players on the Bosman list this summer and believes the following five should be seriously considered by Klopp.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

The talented Swede will leave Paris St Germain this summer and has revealed that he has been inundated with offers from Premier League clubs.

With Liverpool struggling for that form striker since the departure of Luis Suarez most down to the injury problems that seem to hinder Daniel Sturridge’s entire career, Ibrahimovic could be just the tonic the club needs.

He would be an asset to any team and his ability to make goals from nothing must surely appeal to Klopp and his ability to play up top on his own or part of duo make him the perfect centre forward.

Hatem Ben Arfa

Ben Arfa

The French attacking midfielder has been back to his best with French club Nice.

The former Newcastle midfielder struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League but on the odd occasion could show a flash of brilliance.

Now at the age where he is going to be at his best, Ben Arfa could be well worth Klopp taking a chance on this summer and with the lack of creativity currently on show in the midfield at Anfield his talent could well shine if given the chance.

Steve Mandanda

Mandanda

With Liverpool’s goalkeepers being less than than safe this season, Jurgen Klopp is definitely going to be in the market for a new addition.

Mandana has been a revelation at Marseille with assured displays that have him spoken about as one of the most sought after goalkeepers this summer.

With his contract up Klopp could do a lot worse that taking a look at the 31 year old as he would represent a quality addition as the last line of Liverpool’s defence.

Gregory Van Der Wiel

Van Der Wiel

The impressive Dutch right back is another whose contract is set to expire and bring an end to his time in France with Paris St Germain.

A cool and calm defender who defends well and can also probe forward and put some wicked crosses in for the strikers to attack.

Would be a great addition to the Liverpool backline for next season and would add the experience that has clearly been lacking in the back four for Liverpool this season.

Martin Caceres

Caceres

The tough tackling Uruguayan international sees his contract at Juventus expire this summer and is another Klopp would do no harm in giving a chance.

The tough tackling no nonsense centre back would add that steel and aggression that any back four needs.

With Dejan Lovren and Martin Skrtel anything but consistent this season, Klopp will definitely be in the market for a world class centre half and Caceres is definitely that.
