Our local Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern can’t wait to see what Jurgen Klopp does for their club this summer.
The German has a reputation of building teams from modest backgrounds into world beaters, and the Reds faithful are hoping that he can turn their side into one of the best in Europe.
There’s certainly areas to improve, the club finished eighth in the Premier League, a world away from where they want to be but there’s also cautious optimism surrounding Klopp’s tenure.
The Anfield outfit managed to reach two cup finals last season offering an insight of what’s to come, but the former Mainz coach must have realised in the process that some players aren’t up to the performances he expects from his sides.
Plenty of ins at the club are expected but there’s some outs to come to and our landlord here at the Transfer Tavern thinks it’s time for this FIVE to move on to pastures new……

Alberto Moreno
Moreno has been a largely frustrating figure on Merseyside in his two years at Anfield. The Spanish left back looks a real threat going forward, he has pace and a powerful left foot but crucially his defending is poor.
The timing of his challenges have caused issues and the positions he sometimes finds himself in put Liverpool in real danger.
There are much more solid options out there so it’s probably time to move.
Lucas Leiva
Lucas has been a solid player for some years but it could be time for his love affair with the club to come to an end.
The Brazilian hasn’t played as much as he’d like for the club in recent times, and found himself being used a makeshift centre half towards the end of the campaign.
He could still do a job for a number of clubs but may not be able to fully help implement Klopp’s fast playing style.
Christian Benteke
It’s been tough for Benteke and it’s time to move on.
The Belgian had a lot expected of him when he signed from Aston Villa last Summer but quickly his confindence faded as the Reds didn’t play to his strengths.
Benteke was surpassed by his compatriot Divock Origi in the pecking order before Daniel Sturridge returned from injury to also go ahead, and Klopp has probably seen enough, it’s a shame but for the sake of his career it’s time to go.
Adam Bogdan
The Reds now boast Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius in the battle for the number one spot, and this could see the Hungarian fail to get any look in whatsoever.
Bogdan made a handful of appearances for the Reds last season, but failed to impress and should look to move if he wants to have any sort of playing career because he simply won’t get that at Liverpool now.
Jordon Ibe
A lot is expected of Ibe but he’s so far only shown in flashes what he can do.
As Liverpool’s most prominent winger you’d expect him to play a lot more for the Reds to provide width, but he hasn’t and this indicates Klopp doesn’t really see him as part of his plans going forward.
A good player no doubt, but maybe not good enough for where the German boss wants to take his side.
