A heated discussion has broken out in the Football Transfer Tavern between Tottenham and Arsenal fans at the bar.

It’s been a difficult week for Tottenham supporters, with many still having not completely recovered from Sunday’s 6-0 battering at the Etihad Stadium.

Arsenal fans on the other hand have certainly been enjoying things of late. Not only did they get to see their great rivals humiliated on Sunday, but their 2-0 win over Southampton on Saturday has sent them four points clear at the top of the table.

Whilst Arsenal have certainly had the edge on the pitch this season, Tottenham fans reckon they will have the edge once again in the transfer market this January.

Both teams had completely contrasting summer windows.

Tottenham may have lost Gareth Bale, but Andre Villas-Boas spent over £100 million on new playing talent, breaking the club transfer record no fewer than three times with the signings of Paulinho, Roberto Soldado and Erik Lamela.

Arsenal on the other hand put their fans through it all, waiting until the last few hours of deadline day to confirm the marquee signing they had been waiting for all summer.

After missing out on Higuain, Rooney, Jovetic, Bernard and Luis Suarez, Gunners fans were delighted to see the arrival of Mesut Ozil.

Both North London clubs are set to spend once more in January, and have both been linked with plenty of the same players.
