It’s never a quiet week supporting Chelsea, and that statement is valid more so this week than usual.
Jose Mourinho’s men crashed out of the Champions League in midweek after a controversial clash with Paris St Germain at Stamford Bridge.
The actions of Mourinho’s players have been called into question following the first half red card shown to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, whilst the disappointing nature of the performance of the Blues against ten men has also raised questions.
Mourinho responded in typically outspoken fashion at his press conference on Friday, claiming his side WILL go on to lift the Premier League trophy this season.
But will that be enough to satisfy Roman Abramovich – a man famous for sacking managers and his obsession with Champions League success.

Raphael Varane
The Real Madrid centre back is a player Mourinho knows well from his time at the Bernabeu, and is also someone who has been linked consistently with a move since his departure.
Gary Cahill has been inconsistent this season, and John Terry is nearing the end of his illustrious Chelsea career.
Mourinho is looking to spend big on a top class centre back for the future, and various reports suggest Varane has been identified as his top transfer target for the summer.
Paul Pogba
Another French international believed to be on the Blues summer wishlist is Juventus star Paul Pogba.
The former Manchester United man has been busy establishing himself as one of Europe’s best midfielders in the past couple of seasons, and was rumoured to have held talks with Mourinho in London last summer.
Pogba has a long list of admirers, with Real Madrid reportedly preparing a £70million bid.
Chelsea will no doubt be looking to seal the deal as well, whilst a potential midfield three of Pogba, Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas would surely be up there with the strongest in Europe.
William Carvalho
With the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United both keen on Pogba, Portuguese starlet William Carvalho represents a decent alternative.
The 22-year-old has been a revelation at Sporting Lisbon, and is regarded as a future captain of the Portugal national side.
Sporting are aware they cannot hold onto their prized asset for too much longer, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea all having been linked with a £35million move.
The financial power of Chelsea may play a part, whilst Carvalho may also relish working with fellow countryman Mourinho.
Roberto Firmino
The 23-year-old caught the attention of several top clubs after firing 15 Bundesliga goals for Hoffenheim last season – many of which were spectacular. He has carried on that fine form this season, and is expected to move to a bigger club in the summer having been linked with both Chelsea and Liverpool last summer.
The form of Oscar is becoming a slight concern for Chelsea supporters, with the playmaker having faded during the second half of last season, and looks to be repeating the trick this time around.
PSG have been linked, and Chelsea may well decide on a deal that would see Firmino arrive whilst making a profit with the sale of Oscar to their Champions League conquerers.
Gareth Bale
There have been whispers about a possible Gareth Bale transfer this summer, and we can only expect them to get louder as the end of the season draws closer.
Despite having become the most expensive player in the world little over 18 months ago and helping Real Madrid to Champions League success last season, Bale is feeling unloved at the Bernabeu.
He has been consistently booed by his own supporters in recent weeks, which has sparked speculation he may be returning to England this summer.
Chelsea are one of the few clubs who could afford him, and it will be interesting to see if an offer is made at the end of the season.
