This season has been one of underachievement domestically for Manchester City, they would have been keen to add another Premier League title to their trophy cabinet but that all but appears to be on hold until next season.
Although City have won the League Cup this season and made the Quarter Final’s of the Champions League where they will face PSG next week, Manuel Pellegrini will be left wondering why his side have failed in the Premier League this season.
The club decided earlier this year to replace Pellegrini who has been put in a difficult situation by knowing he will be leaving the club in the summer and replaced by Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola.
So with a new manager at the helm next season numerous players are being linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium this summer, one man who looks likely to join the ranks at the club is Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
So with Ter Stegen likely to make the move, our landlord here in The Transfer Tavern has come up with FIVE other possible signings who could make the move to the Etihad this summer……

Robert Lewandowski

The Polish striker could be a player who could be open to a move to England this summer.
Lewandowski has proven himself in the Bundesliga for the past few seasons and is one of the most feared strikers in European football.
Guardiola moving to Manchester City could mean that the Pole would like the chance to prove himself in England, and who better to join than a manager who will play to his strengths and knows him so well.
Hector Bellerin

The Arsenal defender is another who has been linked with a move to join Guardiola’s charges at Manchester City next season.
Has played really well for Arsenal but the sway of a call from Manchester City this summer for him to follow in the footsteps of both Gael Clichy and Samir Nasri by making the move North.
It would take a decent bid from Guardiola to even tempt Arsenal to sell but we all know that every player has their price and City can match most sides valuations for players.
Paul Pogba

The former Manchester United youngster is reportedly top of Guardiola’s list of targets to sign this summer.
The midfielder really has made a name for himself since leaving Old Trafford and has become one of the world’s best midfield players.
With Yaya Toure expected to leave the club this summer, Pogba would be the ideal replacement but he won’t be cheap should Juventus be willing to sell this summer.
Axel Witsel

The Zenit St Petersburg man is another who could make the move to England this summer.
With Guardiola looking for midfield reinforcements this season, Manchester City have reportedly enquired about the availability of Witsel this summer.
A player who is comfortable on the ball he would thrive under the stylish football that will be on show at the Etihad next season.
City could face competition for the Belgian’s signature with some top clubs in Europe also interested in making a move.
Aymeric Laporte

Laporte is the big no nonsense defender that Manchester City have been lacking this season.
He is highly thought of at current club Athletic Bilbao who are ready to offer the player a bumper new deal in an effort for him not to have his head turned by the likes of Manchester City.
Laporte recently broke his ankle and has been ruled out for the rest of the season, but this is unlikely to put City of coming in with a bid in excess of £50 million to land the defender.
