The first six months of Jurgen Klopp’s reign at Liverpool were mostly about solidying Liverpools position in the Premier League, and trying to get the best out of the players that he inherited.
The punters in the tavern think that this summer offers the German’s first real chance at rebuilding a Liverpool side that they think has been largely disappointing over the last few years.
He will no doubt look to sell some of the squad’s weaker players, whilst also looking to bring in a few European stars in order to build his new squad in his own image.
With Liverpool’s decisive opening Premier League game against Arsenal fast approaching, Klopp will almost certainly have one eye on the squad that he will be sending to The Emirates.

Gonzalo Higuain
As Klopp looks to beef up his so far disappointing strike force, he has reportedly looked to Argentine Gonzalo Higuain.
The prolific front man was on fire last season, notching up an incredible 38 goals in 42 games in all competitions last season.
That form has attracted some of the biggest clubs in Europe, but The Daily Star is reporting that Liverpool are leading the chase for the striker, and could complete a deal “very soon”.
If Higuain were to join the club, he would immediately become the star of the Liverpool show, and if his past exploits are to be believed; he could be a thorn in the side of Arsenal on the opening day.
Piotr Zielinski
One deal that looks imminent is for a player less renowned than Higuain; a Polish international called Piotr Zielinski.
According to The Daily Star, the club have ramped up their interest in the player, with a near £10 million bid and a contract on the table for the midfielder.
All signs are pointing towards an imminent conclusion to this deal, and whilst Liverpool fans here in the tavern don’t know a lot about the midfielder, they are interested to see what he can do.
Klopp clearly rates the Polish international, so don’t bet against a starting role against Arsenal on the opening day.
Mario Gotze
Back on to the star names, and one of the higher profile transfer targets that Liverpool have their sights on; Mario Gotze.
A world renowned attacking midfielder, Gotze currently plys his trade with Bayern Munich.
The World Cup match winner of course has history with Jurgen Klopp, having played under the German during his time with Borussia Dortmund, with the pair reportedly retaining a close friendship.
This deal looked like it was off a few weeks ago, with the club reportedly rejecting a bid from Liverpool; but the rumours have ramped up over the last few days.
On top of that, a Bayern Munich statement was issued rejecting the idea that the club was forcing out Gotze; but there was no mention of the club not actually wanting to sell their midfielder. Could this suggest that the club are open to offers?
It would be a major coup for Liverpool should they sign the German; and he would no doubt play a starring role against Arsenal if that were to happen.
Hector Herrera
A deal for Hector Herrera looks to be progressive at a rapid rate, with the club reportedly looking to seal the deal up as quickly as possible.
You might recognise his name through recent rumours that the midfielder might be on his way to Napoli; but it looks as if Liverpool are set to hijack the move.
The Daily Star are reporting that Liverpool are very interested in the midfielder, and are keen to beat Napoli to the signing.
If this one happens, it will likely be completed over the next few days. Liverpool have got to be quick to beat Napoli to the punch.
And this would mean he would be more than ready for a start against Arsenal in a few months time.
Theo Walcott
Now this one would definitely have some added weight for the opening fixture!
After a disappointing couple of seasons, Arsenal are reportedly open to letting Theo Walcott leave the club, with a host of clubs interested.
He would definitely offer something to Liverpool, with his electric pace and shooting ability offering them something that the club definitely lacked last year.
The Evening Standard are reporting that Liverpool are to put in a £25 million bid for the England midfielder imminently; and that might just be enough to get Walcott to Anfield and in time for a starring role against his current club.
