With just seven days left to go before the hugely anticipated release of FIFA 16, our younger crowd of drinkers in the Football Transfer Tavern have been swotting up on some of the stats that underpin the game.
Lets face it; if you and your mate are both fairly decent FIFA players, you’re hardly going to do him over as Bayern Munich with Dagenham & Redbridge!
Therefore such glamour ties as Paris Saint-Germain versus Chelsea or Real Madrid versus Barcelona are often the order of the day when you throw a FIFA party that seemingly goes on and on and on, until you release it’s 3am in the morning!
The guys over at EA Sports have been very clever this year in starting their promotional work extra early and contained in this has been the developers’ decision to spoon-feed the much deliberated upon player ratings for each club on a weekly basis in the lead up to the UK release on September 22nd.
Manchester United will naturally prove a popular team to play with in FIFA 16 given the sheer allure of the Red Devils’ brand worldwide but today we’re looking a little closer into the stats while filling you in on just who are United’s five quickest players when playing in the Ultimate Team mode.

Memphis Depay
Coming as a surprise to nobody, Memphis Depay is rated as the fastest Manchester United player on FIFA 16 with a pace rating at an eye-watering 90.
Having showcased this very pace for his sublimely taken goal against his former employers PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League last night, Depay is still capable of combining this deadly speed with close ball control simultaneously and this is what separates the good players from the great ones.
Undoubtedly set to get better as the season progresses, when Depay is performing to the peak of his powers, he is an incredibly difficult customer to stop.
Ashley Young
Having enjoyed something of a renaissance in Manchester United’s first team ever since Louis van Gaal took over from the ill-fated reign of David Moyes, Ashley Young is viewed as an important squad member once again.
Much was made of the fact that United had very few exciting attacking players to come on and change the game against PSV last night after Luciano Narsingh put the Dutch side 2-1 up but one man who is always capable of beating opposition defenders when he plays is Young.

Unfortunately for Manchester United supporters and football fans in general, we won’t get to see Luke Shaw gallivanting up the left hand side of the pitch from full back for quite some time.
Suffering a horrific double fracture of the leg in last night’s 2-1 loss to PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League, it’s an incredible shame for the player himself who was just starting to look like his old self again after a subdued first season at Old Trafford.
Fortunately enough for fans of FIFA 16, you’ll be able to keep Shaw fit in the virtual world and that’s no bad thing with Shaw boasting a pace rating of 82, ideal to steam out of defence while supporting attacks up the flank at the same time.
Antonio Valencia
Again it’s not surprising that this long-serving Manchester United ace makes the cut regarding the five quickest Manchester United players in FIFA 16.
Having been renowned for his pace up the right wing ever since he was a young player in his native Ecuador, Valencia boasts a pace rating of 81 in FIFA 16 and although he is far less spectacular in his play nowadays as a right back, he still boasts all the recovery pace in the world if he is caught up field.
While Louis van Gaal often selects him as a full back nowadays, you might want to deploy Valencia at right wing with Angel Di Maria now gone and this position being so vital for assisting goals when playing FIFA 16.
Anthony Martial
Tied with Ashley Young as Manchester United’s second fastest player on FIFA 16, new boy Anthony Martial will be a popular choice to start from the off when selecting your dream Red Devils eleven in the game.
Boasting a pace rating of 85, Martial was signed on the pretence of him being an absolute speed machine and Liverpool defenders only know this too well having succumbed to his powers off the left flank in United’s 3-1 victory over the Reds last Saturday evening.
Still incredibly young to boot at 19-years-of-age, Martial is full of exuberance while Wayne Rooney only boasts a pace rating of 75.
