Ahh, Liverpool fans; they don’t half amuse me when they are in the Football Transfer Tavern.
History is all you need in football, apparently.
Anyway, the Anfield mob do get a lot of stick for their delusions of grandeur but this season there is a genuine belief in the tavern, among neutrals, that Brendan Rodgers can guide Liverpool to Champions League qualification.
At last night’s poker tournament, we had a special guest, a former Liverpool player, but due to our landlord and former pro confidentiality agreement, I can’t disclose his name. However he raised some good points as to why the red half of Merseyside will finish in the top four this season.
Okay, the only thing I will say was he used to rock a wonderful moustache (but which 80s footballer didn’t!)
