Speculation this summer has suggested Manchester City will look to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubamayang and, if that was to occur, it would make the Premier League look like a one-horse race next season.

His record
Since joining Borussia Dortmund; Aubamayang has been on fire. He offers electric pace, silky dribbling skills, and perhaps more importantly; goals. Lots and lots of goals.
In just 94 games for his club, he has managed to bag 54 goals; allowing Dortmund to compete with the often unbeatable Bayern Munich.
By signing Aubamayang, Man City would be guaranteeing goals next season; and our landlord thinks we might just see a new look strike force at the club
Aguero and Aubamayang
At the core of that new look strike force, we think we might just start seeing Aubamayang on the pitch alongside his potential new team mate Sergio Aguero
Fans of City will know all about Aguero, and in Aubamayang they would be buying a player of a very similar quality.
Individually, both players offer goals and quality on the pitch; and if they were to combine the results could just be unstoppable.
If City can capture the striker and keep them both fit; no defence will be able to stop them.
New look XI
The signing of Aubamayang also indicates that Guardiola is looking to stamp his mark on the team up and down the pitch.
Typically a manager has to deal with a lot of players that he wouldn’t personally sign; but this might just not be the case next year.
With a new central midfielder signed in Gundongan, and now the potential capture of Aubamayang; each area of the Manchester City first team is being rebuilt in Guardiola’s image.
That might just make his new look Man City team unstoppable next season.
Spending isn’t stopping
This signing also indicates that the spending at Manchester City is showing no signs of slowing down.
The transfer window hasn’t even officially opened yet and the club have already confirmed one signing, and it is looking increasingly likely that Aubamayang might just be next on the list.
That in of itself is already around £80 million pounds, and we can surely expect more over the coming months.
This is an exciting time for City fans, with Guardiola looking to build his own team; and using droves of cash to fund it in order to buy some of the best players in world football.
Nobody else is committing as much as City
On a more general level; this signing shows that Manchester City simply aren’t messing around.
Nobody is committing to spending on such an extreme level; nor is any other club committing at the speed of City.
In many ways, their transfer strategy appears to echo Chelsea’s a couple of years ago; where they had signed Costa and Fabregas before the transfer window had even opened. We all know how that turned out; with both players carrying Chelsea to a league title largely on their own backs.
With the spending looking set to continue as the weeks go on, there is no doubting the potential of this Manchester City team next season.
