The local Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are full of expectation for this summer.
It’s Jurgen Klopp’s first summer transfer window in charge of the Reds and the chatter at the bar is all about which gems he is going to discover in the next few months.
Klopp will undoubtedly be looking for players that fit his playing style.
The German made his name at Borussia Dortmund with his gegenpressing and heavy metal football as he set his side out to completely overwhelm their opposition with high intensity work-rate.
It certainly worked at Dortmund won back to back Bundesliga titles and reached a Champions League football.
Reds fans are now hoping the same can be done at their club but know Klopp needs to make some changes.
The German’s philosophy is all about winning the ball in the oppositions defensive third and for this you need quick forwards. Liverpool already have Daniel Sturridge whilst Danny Ings and Divock Origi are hardly slouches either but with all suffering injury set backs in 2015/16 some extra options wouldn’t go amiss.

Quincy Promes
Promes can play anywhere in the forward line and has done so to great effect for Spartak Moscow this season.
18 goals in 30 Russian Premier Division games make for impressive reading and with eleven caps for the Dutch national team, it surely won’t be long before one of Europe’s big leagues see him on display.
The Dutchman would be the ideal man to help support Daniel Sturridge for Liverpool.
Karim Bellarabi
Bellarabi can play as a wide forward or as the deeper striker in a two pronged attack.
The German international is a key part of Bayer Leverkusen’s team and with twelve goals and 14 assists in all competitions this season, he is clearly adept at both scoring and setting up goals.
He’s 26-years-old which means he still has years ahead of him and the opportunity to work with compatriot Klopp may prove tempting.
Carlos Vela
The Mexican had a lot expected of him when he was a young player coming through at Arsenal but never really managed to reach that potential.
Since moving to Spain though to play for Real Sociedad, he’s shown he can perform at a top level and this is further backed up by his 15 goals in 47 games for his national team.
Vela can play as a right winger or straight down the middle and may want to prove himself in the Premier League once more.
Patrick Herrmann
The German would benefit from Klopp’s management and could be a great deal if Liverpool went for him.
Herrmann is a very versatile forward who can play off of the main striker or down either flank and with experience of playing for his national team he clearly boasts some talent.
Another good season for Monchengladbach might mean he doesn’t want to leave but the Klopp factor cannot be dismissed.
Cristian Tello
Another of the seemingly endless players to be produced by Barcelona, Tello had been playing in Italy for Fiorentina on loan for this season just gone.
The 24-year-old can play down the left or right in an attacking three and if Barca can’t find room for him in front of Luis Suarez, Neymar and Lionel Messi, there’ll be a whole host of clubs that will want him – Liverpool should be one.
