Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have endured a difficult season so far and they’re well aware that their side is in desperate need of new additions in January to improve their fortunes.
The Blues woes have been noticeable in front of goal, with Diego Costa struggling to replicate his fantastic form from last year whilst Loic Remy has failed to make an impression at Stamford Bridge. Furthermore, the least said about Radamel Falcao the better.
With Chelsea already 13 points off the top-four, and seeing their hopes of Champions League football hanging in the balance already, Jose Mourinho will definitely be looking to bring a new forward to West London in January- and our fans believe these five should be top of his wish-list.
Each players has a different level of experience, and the price-tag varies, so it’s by no means an easy decision for Mourinho and his side to come to.

Paco Alcacer
The young Spaniard is a name that has been linked with Chelsea in recent months and could prove to be a valuable addition to the squad, providing the quick fix the Blues need whilst also maintaining huge potential to become even better in the future.
Playing alongside compatriot Diego Costa, along with more international team-mates like Cesc Fabregas and Pedro Rodriguez, could bring the best out of the talented 22-year-old forward and it would certainly be a shrewd addition.
Gonzalo Higuain
If Chelsea elect to move for experience and a player that guarantees goals then they should look no further than Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain, one of the most clinical strikers in the European game having shone during his time in Naples and previously with Real Madrid.
Now potentially on the move again, Chelsea would have to pay a premium for the player’s signature but he could be a signing to propel the Blues up the league standings to where they belong.
Michy Batshuayi
Marseille hitman Michy Batshuayi has quickly developed into one of Europe’s finest up and coming strikers, with the Belgian attracting vast attention that’s seen his asking price soar as high as £35m. However, Manchester United’s addition of Anthony Martial showed it pays off to take a gamble on a young player.
Batshuayi is more proven than Martial too, so there’s no doubt he would be a success in West London and, like Alcacer, would provide an immediate boost to Jose Mourinho’s squad whilst also possessing vast ability to improve further down the line.
Alvaro Morata
Another former Real Madrid forward that Chelsea should try to lure to Stamford Bridge is Juventus striker Alvaro Morata, a Spaniard who has thrived in Turin and has a record of scoring in crucial matches- including the Champions League final last season.
With Juventus, like Chelsea, languishing in a position in the table where they do not belong, the Old Lady’s stars could be tempted away. However, Chelsea would have a test to convince Morata to swap Juve for a similar situation in West London.
Charlie Austin
This is a move that could provide a huge boost for all parties, as it’s clear Charlie Austin should move on. With QPR sat 13th in the Championship, they will be persuaded to sell in January for the right price. Austin, meanwhile, needs a move to have any chance of getting into Roy Hodgson’s European Championship squad.
Chelsea would secure a player with Premier League experience, and a fine record in the top-flight, whilst he’d also cost a fraction of the price as the alternatives here. For the Blues, the ideal solution could be just around the corner at another of West London’s big clubs.
