£60,000 PWK Wage Demands Kill Deal Dead

Steve Bruce will be all smiles as the news that has emerged from the Sunderland Echo has revealed Newcastle United look as though they are set to pull the plug on their advances to re-sign former player Charles N’Zogbia, as his £60,000 a week wage demand is too much for the toon.

Wigan are believed to want £12m for their star man, and seen as previous favourites for his signature Everton failed to raise half their £9m bid upfront it looks unlikely N’Zogbia will be heading to Goodison.

The French international is the black cat’s number one summer target, and although they themselves are reluctant to break the back with a sky high wage bill Bruce is confident he can agree terms with the winger.

N’Zogbia will return from a holiday next week and will sit down and discuss his future taking note of the clubs interested who have approached the Latics with an acceptable offer.

Sunderland certainly have the £12m fee and, if a reasonable deal can be struck for both player and club then N’Zogbia may well be a new edition at the stadium of light come August.

Will a move to Sunderland really for fill the 25 year old’s ambitions? He may well hold out to see if the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool come knocking and offer him a big move that would create a perfect opportunity for him to shine amongst the elite few… We shall see…

I am pursuing a career in journalism. I am a big Arsenal fan and use to love nothing more than travelling the country watching the Arsenal week in week out. I say (use) to love, I’m 100% sure i still would love it... The greatest player ever to grace the premiership is Thierry Henry in my book. Football aside, only fools and horses it is....
